I edited a little video of the game, but cannot load it onto site.He may not of gotten the quarterback, but him blowing up Jones was probably my second favorite play of the game. Only Nate's catch was maybe better.
Need advice for Webby.

It was a passing down.Question:
Why is Spencer Johnson playing this down?.. had we pulled P-Will?
And did you bring up that Fason TD also?

Re: Newmans hit on jones
pat williams doesn't play every down, like most dline. he isnt as effective as a pass rusher than as a run stuffer. its nothing to worry about, he just needed a rest
Make love to the present, fuck the past

Re: Newmans hit on jones
On reason P-Will didn't play that down is it was a passing down. Also keep an eye on what Kevin Williams does.
Newman blitzes and they drop Kevin Williams into a spy zone, hoping that the QB will read the obvious blitz and try to hit the hot route. QB's don't see Lineman hiding out waiting for the interception.
Newman almost does TOO good of a job
That play was designed for that specific situation. To advertise the blitz drop Kevin Williams into a spy, and hope that we either get a sack or get the INT.
Having Johnstone in is a no brainer, he is the best pass rushing defender we have and he would have been getting a blind side shot on the QB hopefully causing a fumble. Spencer Johnson is a security blanket JUST in case the QB tries a draw. Having Fat Pat in the Middle may have drawn a double team on Pat and made the spy by Williams less effective.
Of course Newman blew the block up and made a tremendous play so, most people see Kevin Williams and think he has given up on the play.
Pretty sweet clip.
I noticed the Detroit center made a great read, notice after he snaps the ball he looks at Kevin Williams, he must have noticed that Kevin was upright and not fighting to get in so he then begins to help the Guard with Spencer Johnson.
I saw the FB release for a dump off pass, but that would have been a good time to send a blitz up the gut to catch that center second guessing once he commits to Spencer Johnson there was a lane there a mile wide.

Thanks for the file, man. 'Preciate it.
One who won't appreciate it is Jones. Man, I would hate to be him with the team watching game film of this. LOL!"From the fury of the Northmen, O Lord, save us!"
