Re: New Vikings Stadium
That stadium would be gorgeous, and the retractable roof gives us the outdoors appeal without having to worry too much about scaring away players ...
These pics have been around a while and we are all crossing our fingers I think.

Re: New Vikings Stadium
I hope they go with the stadium design on the Vikings web site because that is an design. This plan still hinges on our state spending some to help professional sports which they have been unwilling to do so far.

Yeah, but they are not asking as much this time around (rumored) and not asking as much as most teams ask cities. The rumor is they are only asking for $200 million from the state, and that will have a much better shot than $275 + millionsI hope they go with the stadium design on the Vikings web site because that is an design. Good point but the state still has to be willing to spend at least that much and this state is one that doesn't want to lend to pro sports owners no matter how much those teams mean to the state (see the North Stars). But here is to hoping that they change their attitude."DarrinNelsonguy" wrote:

Re: Question about funding for the stadium

FYI we already have the "Target Center" where the T'wolves play. :wink:Why can't there be a corporate sponser that could kick in a 1/3 of the cost? They could have exclusive naming rights and have some sort of theme area or something for the sponser as well as some sort of finacial benifit i would assume. would think that one of our "Big" companies like Best Buy, Target, ect would love to have their name on something. Would this be that difficult? I guess I don't really understand some of the political stuff about this matter
*Off The Subject: I doubt Best Buy would, they're too busy making money on selling "warranties". Does anyone else dislike BB as bad as I do? A friend of mine was in town for a short while and went in to purchase a cheap DVD player for $30. Then they ask if he would like to warranty it for an additional $20! Might as well fork out another $10 and have 2.
