The coaching is going to blow goats next year. They will probably screw up the draft and free agency. I just have this feeling.

Well promoting Loney does keep some continuity there so thats not a bad thing. I wasn't aware of his record prior to the Vikes and whilst coaching college and NFL is different, he has been around the NFL enough to not be a complete novice.
We'll still need a QB coach - unless he is up to doing that too. One good thing with the draft and FA is that its not just down to the coaching staff, Studwell and co. are starting to show what they can do so I've no fears on that front. The only thing that could be a headache in FA is whether te money is available to go after some Tier 1 FA.s

At least we have someone familiar with the system. I wonder if Tice will call plays?
Did you notice that Tice doesn't even chew bubble gum and coach at the same time????

The fear I have is that some of the guys on our team that will be FA's might not want to resign with us if it looks like another bargain basement coaching year.

    Way to stay positive!

Anyways, I do not follow the assistant coaches too much (probably should), but will this guy mimic Linehan or does he have his own style? Just wondering if anybody knows.

i think that would be awesome if linehan stunk it up in miami. that would show how good our offense really is.

well, it is not the worst move i have heard of...but easily the cheapest. he has coaching experience, probably more than Tice.

It does look like another cheap move by McCombs. I don't like the idea of promoting the o-line coach without even looking at other canidates. All I can do is hope Tice and Red know what they're doing and Loney can at least maintain the level of efficiency that our offense displays.

Does anyony know if this was Tice's first decision, or did Red have some input?

I think Loney was the best possible candidate but i'd rather have the o-coordinator from USC. Norm Chow. Maybe when we get a new coach.
