Thread: The New Era--Welcome Coach Childress.

It's no secret that I would have liked Herm Edwards as the Vikings coach and despite all the doubters, I thought we would go after him and get him. But after listings to some clips of Edwards press conferences the last two days on the NFL Network and then listening to Childress' press conference today I am SURE we got the right guy!
Edwards would have never been able to get along with the press in the Twin Cities just as he couldn't in NY and it would have been a detrement to the Vikings goal of a new stadium.

A new era in Minny vikings football, Daunte will be a better player under Childress.

I think the answer is that we're in the 'initial euphoria stage' of the whole ordeal. Almost 'Blind Optimism'.

well I'm just asking because I don't know much about the guy except he was the OC for the Eagles the past few seasons. Is he the one responsible for the little to no run plays the Eagles called this season?

I'm not sure yet either. The Eagles offence was not impressive this year at all. Granted McNabb was hurt most of the season but the Eagles seemed to abandon the run with only aroud 1400 yds rushing for the season. It will be interesting to see if he is championship caliber like Wilf said he wanted

After that press conference I feel the Vikings are capable hands like never before.
