    Need Updated "Skol Vikings"

    I don't know how many of you here have heard the Vikings fight song "Skol Vikings". You can download it here:

    Anyway it sounds like this was recorded in about the 1950's. The quality is terrible. It seems to me if Zygi wants to spend a few bucks, he could have this professionally recorded by someone like the University Of Minnesots Marching Band so it has some pasazzzzzz to it.
    Come on Zygi -- break loose with a few more bucks. I wouldn't even play this at the stadium it sounds so terrible.

    maybe not update the fight song but instead add an official chant during the game. not just after a score.

    Maybe Fleetwood Mac could jazz it up along the lines of TUSK and the USC Marching band . . .

    Wasn't there something about this on Mr CoD's site a few months back. There was talk about a new version of Skol Vikings being played during pre and post game, but the same, time honored one being played during the actual game.

    I like this idea. The new one would have the same words and basic melody, but the recording and tempo would be jazzed up a little bit. We would then have a couple of years to get used to the new one before we accept it during regular games. Maybe they could bring it in as the main song at the same time the new stadium opens...

    I like the tradition of the song, but the quality is tinny and vocals almost sound like a cheesy beer commercial... Is the Hamm's bear dancing in the background???

    even though the USC band is amazing and huge.. it just wouldnt be the same if a 'forgeign' band recorded it
