    JK SI.......

I am a bit tired of the whole "Stacked Box" discussion.
Its as if this is a new scheme, concept designed just to stop AD, when in fact, RB's of lesser quality face it all the time.
Long story short, the only way to beat a stacked box is to block effectively.

As to LNAD and his ability to beat those stacked boxes, I am still not convinced that him being under center will force D's to quit using that concept.
Almost every pass we saw out of him this pre-season was short dinks and dunks as prescribed by the scheme (with one deep ball that was so far off target it was almost picked).

    If I was
    a D-coord, I would scheme accordingly.
I would focus on stopping AD and worry about the short stuff by keeping the recievers in front of me so that I could keep the YAC to a minimum.

    For the Browns..........

Unless we get behind because of turnovers, I look to see alot of AD Left, AD Right, AD off Center mixed in with alot of slants to Percy short, skinny posts by El Syd and Shanc down the middle.

Probably a 15-20 or so for 200 yds.
    No TD's and 1 INT.
As long as those dinks and dunks move the chains I'm a happy camper.
And by "keeping players in front" that assures the dinks and dunks get first downs.

What I want Favre to do is KEEP DRIVES ALIVE.
50% 1st downs and 70% on 3rd down conversions would be great!
Even if it's a little 4 yard dink, a first down is golden when you have AD/CT.
The more reps AD has the greater the chance of busting the BIG ONE.

LONG DRIVES that wear down their D's, so by the 4th Qtr, they are MUSH and our D is fresh and hungry for QB meat.

    We win.

Personally, I don't think there is intelligent life on other planets. Why should other planets be any different from this one?

Anyone can stop the run if they blitz all the gaps, the only problem with that is your vulnerable to the PA or deep ball. Thats why I think we'll run, theyll stop us, then we'll just start PAing a lot to Shank and Berrian(if he plays).

??? Really it is the only way ever devised to beat a stacked box? I know you are a big "if only the lineman would play better kind of guy" I think there may just be offensive coordinators who are willing to try and beat a stacked box with more than just better blocking. I think it's called the forward pass. Something TJ has had trouble with in the past and something I think Favre will do much better.
That said I believe our O line should be able to more than handle the Browns in the running game and we will pretty much be able to do what we want once that is established. I hope to see Childress open it up in the second half and pour it on.

Re: My Big day Prediction for Favre

Anybody expecting an all world performance from the offense to start the year will be disappointed. We might put up a great performance against the Cleveland Steamers only because they stink. But Brett got here late and we have too many new faces on the offense and it is going to take the first 75% of the season to get in sync at a minimum.

That isn't to say that the team won't be better with Brett under center. It certainly will, but it won't be operating at it's potential until they get more time playing together.
