    My 1998 conspiracy theory

1998, the year Gary Anderson was perfect in field goals until he missed the one in the playoffs by oh 3 yards.
He had been right down the middle all year long.
the Broncos and their fans knew they couldn't beat the Vikings, but could beat the falcons.
Coincidence that John Elway sold some of his dealerships for a hefty sum of money.
I think he paid off Anderson to miss so he could win his second superbowl and retire.
Just a theory though, no actually proof, besides most Bronco fans are idiots.

    lmao, awesome theory.

My theory is that Gary Anderson was pissed when his son said his favorite player was Randy Moss right after he was deemed the all-time leader in scoring.
He chunked it because of his son.

When they had the ceremony, wasn't his kid wearing a Moss jersey?

How much is a Super Bowl worth? I would say a lot more than a couple bucks from John Elway.

The idea that Anderson missed the FG on purpose is ludicrous. How did they know the Vikings weren't going to blow the Falcons out of the dome? Could Gary lose the game for them if they were up 35-0? No.

The idea that it was "Hey Gary, if it comes down to a field goal...you miss it and I'll pay you a bagillion dollars" is ridiculous.

    Gimme a break!

It's probably because no one makes jerseys of kickers.

My theory was then and will always be that drunken Pat Summerall angered the football karma gods by arising from his alcholic stupor to declare that "Gary Anderson *hic* hasn't missed a kick *hic* all.......season.......long......"

    =Z=

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Don't you think his jersey would have fit his kid, Gary wasn't a big man
