Lets see, tied for first, 7 games left, two against the Lions, One against the bears, and a nother against the packers.

Vikes offense is banged up. Rosenthal and Big K out for the season and Moss out at least one more week, maybe two. Yes, this is a must win game. The Lions are depleted both on offense and defense, and its at Minnesota.

And, I see Culpepper throwing 6 TD passes this Sunday. I believe he is a little ticked that the NFL has almost forgotten him with Manning turning up the TD passes. ESPN now says Manning is the only QB on schedule to break marino's record. WHAT???
Yes, Culpepper is on pace for only 44 TD passes, (Only) but one hot game against the Lions and he's back in the hunt. And it's not like he cannot do it, he has had three 5 TD games thus far this year. Again, ESPN left Culpeppers name out when mentioning Manning doing the same, even yhough Culpepper was the first to do so.

Anyway, Pep gets hot, lions lose, Vikes move into the first place.

In the past we haven't had big days against the Lions. DC and Moss have been held in check. I am hoping that that will change but I wouldn't put money on it.

It is definately a must win situation... I consider every division game a must win because should the division still be really close at the end of the season division games are used at tie-breakers. Now that we have 1 division loss... and 3 more to go after this game... its huge that we don't lose on sunday... esp not at home.

Yes, 'cause if we lose again that would give Green Bay a 2 game advantage over us, then Detriot would share the same record at 5-5 putting us a game behind them then we'd be third in the division. Makes me wanna puke just thinking about it.

Luckily, unless there is even more wrong with this defense than meets they eye, I actually see the Vikings having a real break-out game on offense this Sunday. A rather wild (and optimistic) prediction here, but I see going it down like this:

Minnesota - 41
Detroit - 13

The frustration of 3 losses in a row (2 close ones they should have won) should make for some real sense of urgency. Tice and Cottrell can not be feeling too secure about their employment either at this point. Go Vikes!

This is the game that the defense will finally SHOW UP and score a touchdown. :angryfire:

It was definitely a must win, GB won last night and we kept the pace. We have to have an even record or one game better going into the Dec 24th contest.

We showed the lions a thing or two about courage.

It was a gutsy come back at the end.
