Re: Move over Marrdro - I'm back on the wagon!

Childress outcoached both Marinelli and Nolan.

It's really nice to see our team improve, and we have improved in every facet.

Now let's get that 8th win to make it official.

With yesterday's win, Coach Childress has officially improved over last year.
That, my friends was the minimum I needed to see, and what I was asking for at the beginning of the season.
The fact that he will likely show much more improvement is awesome!

Halfway through the season, I faltered.
I lost my faith, and I hopped down off from the Childress band wagon.
It was an error in judgment on my part.
My friend Marrdro tried to tell me time and time again.
He tried to remind me that I was one of the people who championed the belief that it was too early to judge.
And yet I did anyway, even going so far as to call for his job after the Green Bay game.

I should have stuck to my convictions.
But now I see the error of my ways, and I take my place back on the wagon as a Coach Childress supporter (no jock strap jokes please ;D)).
It is a lot more crowded up here that it was when I got off, but there is still room for some more!

Here is to a strong future with Coach Childress leading the Vikings.

"We're going to be like Vikings. We'll go ashore, burn the boats, and never look back.
    Today we are going ashore."
Has Childress improved or is it that the players are beginning to execute?

In several of Marrdros posts when we have lost, he has stuck up for chilly & has stated that it was the players failure to execute that has cost us us the games.

Given that then, shouldn't it be the players who are now starting to execute being the ones getting the credit?

I fail to see how one can have his cake & eat it to.

    What I am seeing a lot on this site is;

If we lose, it's not Childress' fault. The players failed to execute.

If we win, it's yeah Childress. Childress is a genious.

Something is wrong with that picture.

I have said Childress & Frazier have adjusted the schemes to play more to the players strengths. I was scoffed at.

IMO, that is exactly what has happened with the addition of the a few trick plays coupled by the fact that the players are beginning to get a lot more comfortable & learned with their assignments. Fewer mistakes are being made & there is more of a rythym on the field.

Plus I think the players are just having more damn fun.

Is Childress the catylyst that has caused this team to start geling or is it the fact that the coaches underneath him are getting thru to their respective players? Is Bevell doing more of the play calling now or is it still Childress? We really don't know.

What I do know is Childress took a big step forward when he admitted being wrong about not talking to his players & would start listening to them more. I think that has helped a lot throughout the course of the season.

By no means am I knocking Childress. I think he's been doing a lot of the same things all along. I'ts just that with more open lines of communication between the players & the coaches, some adjustments made to the schemes & the players getting more familiar & comfortable with their roles & T-Jack gaining more experience & poise each week, that things are just finally coming together.

They are playing as a cohesive team now, much better than we saw earlier in the year. Especially when you look at all the down field blocking that has been going on.

On a side note. Marrdro hasn't posted here in 3 days, so your thread might befall on deaf ears.

    That is so unlike him.

I'm beginning to think Marrdro has moved PP.O over to the other column.

What good is a hunt club if they don't have internet access?
    :-\

If they do, damn him for not taking a lap top.

Re: Move over Marrdro - I'm back on the wagon!

Its nice to see a lot of people getting back on the wagon. Ecspecially NP, he has taught me quite a bit about football and is a respected member here who posts often. I was beginning to worry when he went and jumped off on us Its good to see he jumped back on with us.

There probably will be more hard times with Childress at the reigns if he sticks around for a while, I hope everyone around here doesn't give up on him as easily next time. I got a bit tired of trying to change minds.

    Thanks Josdin00 for the sig!

    Go Vikes!!!
I'll agree with you on all your points... only I didn't have any faith in the Chiller coming into the season. 4 wins in a row is great to see and proves we are an improving team. I'm happy to eat crow... and I probably deserve some extra.
