Moss' weight gain (15 lbs.) - Pro or Con?

Yes, he'll be able to break tackles more easily (though he already had a wicked stiffarm), but will it slow him down and take away that breathtaking speed he possessed? With Cornerbacks like DeAngelo Hall entering the league and other quick veteran cornerbacks, a difference of half a step will mean quite a bit. He ran a 4.23 40 - only Deion Sanders was faster, at 4.22. What will he run now?

I dont think he was running that fast last year because of his injuries he just didnt seem like he had the same speed as a couple years ago i think the back spasms and foot problem has slowed him down, he will still be fast enough but able to rag doll CB's

Randy's never been a spped WR, he's fast sure but he's never been as fast as bennett. Mass has always been the guy who has the great leap, good spearation, terrific routes, great hands.

Besides 15 lbs of muscle is not gonna cut your speed.

I'm just afraid of the "David Boston Factor". The guys a stud receiver, with all the strength you'd ever want in a wideout. The problem is, the added weight causes a lot of leg injuries.

He's never been a speed wide reciever?? I guess I must have been watching a different wide receiver! If he isn't/hasn't been a speed receiver, who the hell has been....in the history of the game?

I get the most pissed off looks from people with my VKG 4 LFE Wisconsin license plate, and I LOVE IT!!

I thing the weight gain is due to him sitting around resting his foot, and will not benefit him. I think he'll lose it before the seson starts.

I have to disagree. He's very much a speed guy. That's one of the things that make him such a good deep threat. Sure he's not as fast as Bennett, but that's only because Bennett is faster than Forrest Gump.

As for the weight issue, it's very hard to tell when a guy reaches the threshold where the extra bulk starts to affect his speed. Keep in mind that Moss was a fairly wirey guy coming into the league, so it could well be that 15 extra pounds will only make him tougher and not affect his speed. We'll have to wait till training camp to be sure.
Faster than a speeding Grady Jackson! More powerful than a Nick Barnett! Able to leap Ahmad Carroll in a single bound! Look! Up in the sky! It s a bird! It s a plane! It s Jermaine Wiggins!

I'm a little worried about the David Boston syndrome myself.

Moss' best attributes are his speed, hands and leaping ability in that order. Personally I never thought Moss had alot of problem with jams and stuff so I am not sure why he would add more mass, cept to PREVENT injury.

I m like a Ja Rule poster, cause I'm off the wall.
