Thread: Moss trade trivia

Am I the only one that remembers the 3rd player in the Moss trade.
He got released in training camp.
He was the seventh round pick they aquired along with Napoleon Harris and Troy Williamson.

It seems that way, doesn't it?

With the only 7th round pick we had in the 05 Draft we picked Adrian Ward, DB, Texas-El Paso.


You know, after looking over the 05 Draft, its pretty clear the Vikings front office did some pretty horrible talent evaluating.

Round 1
7 Troy Williamson WR South Carolina - Halfway out the door.
18 Erasmus James DE Wisconsin - Jurry still out due to injury last season.
Round 2
49 Marcus Johnson T Mississippi - Bust, unless he miraculously turns it around this season.
Round 3
80 Dustin Fox CB Ohio State - Cut already. Playing for Eagles.
Round 4
112 Ciatrick Fason RB Florida - Buried in the depth chart. Doesnt look promising.
Round 5
No Pick
Round 6
191 C.J. Mosley DT Missouri - Traded to the Jets for Bollinger.
Round 7
219 Adrian Ward DB Texas-El Paso - Cut

I'm not about to Google it, but didn't we trade for Pat Williams with the 7th rounder from the Raiders? ???

We had two 7th rounders that year. One we traded to the Jets for Sam Cowart and the other we picked Adrian Ward with. The raiders one was the Adrian Ward pick.

Still doesn't answer the question.

Adrian Ward is who the vikings selected with the 7th pick in the 2005 draft, with the pick they acquired from Oakland in the Moss trade.

We traded our regular 7th round pick to the Jets when we acquired Sam Cowart;

That's right, that makes sense now. I remembered something about a 7 round trade that year.
