Perhaps the Vikings should consider a name change because they have as many players on their training camp roster from South Dakota and North Dakota - two each - as they do from Minnesota...
Re: More Dakotans than Minnesotans on Vikings
Sure. Now that the Vikings appear to be on the verge of winning the superbowl, the Sioux Falls Argus Leader wants to swoop in and take credit!
Re: More Dakotans than Minnesotans on Vikings
I hate to say it. But it seems not alot of people in minnesota like the Vikes. If its not about the twins its not really worth discussing. and its sad in my view. whenever I am over there most people say yeah they check in on them if theyre winning they watch if they are losing they find something else to do.
Re: More Dakotans than Minnesotans on Vikings
I would think that there is a hell of alot of Vikings Fans in ND and SD,
seeing the Vikings are probably the closest NFL Team to their States.....

That might be a regional thing, I know where I live it seems the exact opposite is true.

The Packers/Vikings territory line is way to close to St. Paul.

In the parts of North Dakota I have lived (Grand Forks, Fargo, Bismarck) the football team of choice is by far the Vikings, but it is definitely not the only one.
The Puckers are fairly popular around here too, as are the Broncos as you go farther south.

There are a lot of Vikings fans in SD, to be sure.
I am a relocated product of that.
But there is a hodgepodge of loyalties within SD.
Living as I did in Eastern Central SD it was mostly Vikings fans, when I lived out in Western SD at college there were more Denver fans than Vikings fans, and if you get along the very southern tier there are pockets of KC fans being the predominant.
Unfortunately you also have a smattering of Packers fans sprinkled over most of the eastern and central part of the state kind of like chopped nuts sprinkled over the top of a brownie.
And in my estimation just as those nuts ruin a brownie, so to do they cast a paltry shadow over my proud birthstate.

I have never understood that one at all.
KFYR in Bismarck only gives away Broncos tickets in their contests.
