Momentum
To me the game could have been REALLY turned if Childress would've went for it on 4th and a foot at the goaline.
Childress has been consistently too conservative for my taste.
I think you tell the offense you have zero faith in them when you kick the field goal in that situation.
No wonder the offensive play is so flat.
Also, Troy is off my team.
Another dropped first down that would have kept us alive.
Cheers.

Re: Momentum
Can't argue with this. After the penalty, I felt it was a good time to go for it, you get the touchdown and the Dolphins attitude is completely different from a stop at the one. You run the risk of not making it but if you don't you still have your D playing very well and a 10-10 tie. I felt after the penalty was the perfect time as the Phins would have had us stopped, but created an oppurtunity for us to rethink the FG. The upside seemed to me to outweigh the downside. Always nice to take a lead but sometimes you need to do something that gives your team a boost and an edge.To me the game could have been REALLY turned if Childress would've went for it on 4th and a foot at the goaline.

Re: Momentum
I'm not surprised that Childress is from the old "don't take points off of the board" school.
I thought he made the right decision, though.
With the defense playing well, keeping a sure 3 point
lead seemed logical. :-\

You go for it on fourth and one at your own 30 but not on the goal liine.
I had a bad feeling when Winfield couldn't get it in.
To be fair, I was in favor of the field goal.
At that point any points were needed.
