    More Crap Shoot(ing)

    29. MIN: Vince Oghobaase, DT, Duke
The Vikings defensive tackles are not getting any younger and it is time to bring a youngster into the mix. Vince Oghobaase is the best thing that Duke has to offer as far as football is concerned and at 6-6, he has the biggest frame of any of the top linemen prospects.

    *Marvin Austin
    North Carolina
    DT43

    Reach (-2) Minnesota
In order for the defensive line to remain a strength for the Vikings, they'll need to start incorporating some fresh blood as Pat Williams begins to show his age so grabbing Austin would make sense. CB Syd'Quan Thompson makes sense as well as he seems to be built in the mold of Antoine Winfield. - B STott (Drafttek Vikings Analyst)

One thing I did come away with out of this, is that everyone expects us to be in the NFC championship game.
Over 90% think we are going to be beaten by NO.

    Mock away!

    BPA available please.
I don't know about these D tackles but everyone seems to be giving us a different player at that position.

Unless you have a guy that drops like Harvin or Moss or Rothlisberger or ..........
I think you have to have a position in mind.
BPA at the positions of most need.

Most need IMHO = DT, QB, S

    Need future replacements.
Heck we might have the DT already on this team.. our subs have been contributing.
Maybe we add CB to that list to groom someone for Winfields spot in a couple of season from now in case Asher Allen pulls a McCauley.

BPA is the only way to go.

Where everyone seems to see need I see young players that haven't matured enough to properly judge.
i.e. Tyrell, Asher Allen, Paymah, and Robison.
    Even if it's a RB.

    Excellent point.

Don't forget to put Guion in that mix.

    Hey mods.
Can you make a offseason thread that we can put this stuff in?
I know its early and not many start thinking about this stuff this soon, however, there are a few of us sicko's out there.
    Hey mods.
    Can you not do that?

    =Z=

    Why not?
Probably so it's not like the Favre, Childress, or Jackson issues where you have to go through hundreds of pages to find what you're looking for after everything gets merged together.
My guess is he has some sort of strange inkling that if they do make a forum for offseason stuff like this we will start to make more threads.

Then threads like WWYD, "Interactive Rodgers Sack Tracker", "Interview Thread", "Whats on your Ipod", ect will get lost in the shuffle.

Minnesota Vikings: Travis Lewis, OLB, Oklahoma
Weakside linebacker is not a need for the Vikings, but Travis Lewis, a possible top-15 prospect, is the best player available here. Ben Leber will be 31 in December and he'll be entering the final year of his contract next season. A dynamic talent like Lewis could push Leber for playing time right away and become a force on Minnesota's defense as a mere rookie.

Pick change; previously Ryan Mallett, QB

    27. Minnesota Vikings: Terrence Cody, DT, ‘Bama

Cody fits in perfectly with the Vikings defense. He is a HUGE run stopper and will be a great player for the Vikings defense. Cody is the top Run Stopper in any position in this 2010 NFL Draft and worth a late first round pick.

    MINNESOTA VIKINGS:

    COLT MCCOY, QB, TEXAS
    Colt McCoy | Texas Longhorns

    Scouting Report

After months and months of speculation the Vikings finally signed Brett Favre but he is merely a stop-gap solution, at best. Minnesota’s relentless pursuit of the future Hall of Famer was a clear sign that they didn’t have much faith in either Tarvaris Jackson or Sage Rosenfels so they will likely be in the market for a new signal caller in the near future. Texas’ Colt McCoy is a controversial player and while you can’t question his college resume there are still some legitimate concerns about him as a pro prospect. On the plus side he has adequate size, is an above-average athlete, extremely accurate and earns rave reviews when it comes to his leadership ability and work ethic. Colt McCoy | Texas Longhorns On the other hand he does not have a great arm and doesn’t exactly play in a pro style offense for the Longhorns. McCoy may not be the Top 10 pick that some have made him out to be but there is a chance he will come off the board late in round one. The Vikings could also be on the lookout for another defensive tackle to eventually replace 37-year-old Pat Williams and don’t rule out a versatile running back who can be a receiving threat if they lose Chester Taylor in free agency.

    30. Minnesota Vikings Minnesota Arthur Jones DT 6'4" 296 Syracuse
Don't know enough about any of the players, however, looking at the positions they project as possible selections (QB, S, LB, DT, RB etc) can't argue with those.

Judging by the little I can find out there, Spielmans history (albeit short) and our needs, we will go BPA with our first pick and move in the second for a QB we can develop over a year or two.

    Serves two things......

    1.
Gives us depth at a position that we will soon need to fill (DT, LB, RB, etc)
    2.
Gives us leverage when discussing contract with TJ.

Hopefully they are wrong on every one of these picks because we are drafting in the 32nd slot.
Why must you defend everything this FO does....to the point of making your self look like a yes man.
