    MLB - Brinkley vs Cole

Think this is an open competition or do you think one has an advantage over the other at the start of camp?

I don't think either one has a lock on it and wouldn't be surprised if someone else is starting by week one.

I think this is wide open... although i think Brinkley could shine in Zimmer's defense... I sure would like to see Cole back there.. He was a tackle machine in the few games he started for us.

I think Cole is quicker and more fluid than Brinkley, I think he is more instinctive as well. I look for Cole to beat out Brinkley.

    CJ Mosley?

I agree with you on that tho...we know what Brinkley is, a two down run plugger. I'd rather see Cole get another shot.

What I really want to know is who is going to shut down the TE and/or screen pass when it's 3rd and long!?!
Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

Mosley would be a great pick if we move down, I am not sure he is worth the 8th pick (he is projected to be a middle round pick). He would be a great addition (a three down backer), so it just depends on who else is on the board. I would say if Bortles, Manziel, Mack or Watkins are on the board we should take them over Mosley. If Those guys are gone I say trade down and we should still be able to get Mosley, he is projected anywhere from 11to 23.

Don't underestimate Mauti... This will be a wide open completion for two LB spots. Only Greenway is a lock.

Greenway is a lock, but if we draft Khalil Mack or Anthony Barr ... then Greenway will see his snaps go down by mid-season because one of those two will likely become the nickel OLB. I think that Greenway *may* be overrated. But the rest of the LB corps has been so miserable as of late that Greenway is often trying to overcompensate. I think if Cole proves to be a capable middle man then Chad will improve greatly.

I would love to see us trade back and maybe pick up another second/third and nab Mosely in the first round. Would be a solid pick and allow us to pursue OLBs later like Bradford. Of course, Borland and Jones are solid LBs that could project inside or outside as well. There is some LB depth in this draft. Which is good since it is such a need.

If we trade back and pick up Mosley I would love to trade back into the first round and Pick up Shazier, we would be in great shape at LB for years to come. Both those guys are play makers and will help Chad become a much better LB also. Our front seven would start to look like the 49ers if the rookies paly to their potential. Obviously we wouldn't be as good as their front seven but we would be looking a lot more like them with those two additions.
