Misery is life as a Vikings Fan

Dear Flem: Misery is life as a Vikings Fan

Dear Flem:
You can imagine how disgusted I was to find that you traded emails with a "suffering" Bears fan. Ummm, didn't they just compete in a Super Bowl a few years ago? Needless to say, Viking Nation is outraged that a Bears fan (someone who actually has a pro football championship) gets "face time" over the poor suffering Vikings fans. What gives, Flem?

I really hope we can finally win the NFC North. I can't take much more of these letdowns.

Whenever i get down about our mn. sports teams, i think of all the teams in the 4 major sports that have never played in a championship series or game, some having never even been to the playoffs. I realize it could be a HELL of a lot worse. It would take 2 posts to name all the teams, but some of them have been around a LOT longer then our 4 sports.

That may be little consolation for others, but it works for me.

Loved this line:
Being in the "driver's seat" as a Viking fan is like being in the back seat of a runaway Ford Pinto. At any moment, it might catch fire and explode, and yet there is no easy way out.
That's EXACTLY the way I feel!

If any team can self destruct at the worst possible time it's the Vikings.

Nobody can snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory quite like the Vikings!

neither of my football teams has won a championship since 1990. and in the CFL theres only 8 teams, so theres no excuse for an 18 year drought. If the Vikings and Bombers both win championships in the next year i have no idea what i'll do, no sport team i watch has ever won a championship.

That's enough of this.
There's no misery in being a Vikings fan.
Sure things don't usually work out the way we want (read: never), but I get pumped to see them play every year.
Quit wallowing in sorrow.
Some people here sound like they're starting to enjoy it.
We're Vikings fans, not Cubs fans.
