Oh man, how could I forget about the 1st half tackling? Wow! What an abomination. Between Morris and Garcon I don't know which one shook off more of our would be tacklers. Do our defensive coaches teach these guys anything? Can't tackle, can't defend passes, can't rush the QB, can't buy an interception, can't get their sorry asses off the field on 3rd down, and just can't make a play at any point in a game. I suppose that's what you get when you willingly play a scheme that's predicated on WAITING for the offense to make a mistake.
That's two games in a row that we were actually pretty enjoyable to watch. Part of it is how far down my expectations are at this point, but the other is watching competitive games and improved offensive play. Defense still has a long ways to go, but at least they showed up in the second half and only gave up 3 points. KW looked young again.
The 3rd down conversion rate was beyond ridiculous, leading to a horrid TOP imbalance of 36min to 24min, it must have been close to 20/10 in the first half. But we found a way to outscore them 20-3 in the second half with a depleted team and come out with a win.
Ponder's INT was a horrible decision and a great way to get the game started, but the rest of the game he played pretty well. Don't remember seeing a dropped ball by our WR's either.
I don't think it was a "fun" game to watch. I got pissed and wound up biting my fingernails as I watched Washington march down the field for the tying TD against a once again hapless defense. Fun to me is like, 45-3. Now games like last night are fun if the Vikings aren't in them! Ok, it was a little fun since we won.
Pretty sad 13 reply after a win!!
I know it has been a depressing year but still.
One catch for a yard was the above average mark Carlson.
Who's Mark Carlson?
