Minnesota Vikings sign former Wisconsin kicker to contract
http://www.twincities.com/sports/ci_11337401
The Minnesota Vikings have signed former University of Wisconsin kicker Taylor Mehlhaff to a two-year future contract.
Mehlhaff, a sixth-round draft pick in 2008 for the New Orleans Saints, is a candidate to make the 2009 roster as a kickoff specialist, allowing veteran Ryan Longwell to focus on field goals.
The Vikings also signed Nebraska-Omaha linebacker Kenny Onatolu.Kentucky Vikes Fan

Sounds good, Longwell has struggled to get it to the endzone this year.

Re: Minnesota Vikings sign former Wisconsin kicker to contract
Interesting note I am clueless on the future contracts situation
Onatulu played in the CFL the last 2 seasons spent some time on the practise roster then developed into a starting spot for the edmonton eskimos I really like him from what I have seen, really athletic and hits incredibly hard.
It would be cool if he makes it but more than likely he will end up back in CFL

Why do it now? It's not like you won't have a chance to sign him in the offseason.

Troy Smith knows... Your Quaterback will know too.
