Re: Minnesota Vikings QB Tarvaris Jackson says he has 'a lot to prove'...
I hope TJack has a great season.
I wish him the best.
But, we need a capable backup just in case he falls on his face and doesn't play well.
We cannot go into the season with Brooks Bollinger as our backup quarterback.

yes he has something to prove.
If he doesn't, are there any good QB FAs available in 09?"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

Re: Minnesota Vikings QB Tarvaris Jackson says he has 'a lot to prove'...
Am I the only person that doesn't remember hearing about Tarvaris's becoming a father at the beginning of last season? Huh.Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson has spent most of his time this offseason relaxing and spending time with family, including his five-month-old son, Tarvaris II.
Anyways, the same thing many of us said last year is still true this year. Tarvaris doesn't need to be phenomenal for the Vikings t omake a deep playoff run; he only needs to limit mistakes and make good decisions. We needn't look any further than the likes of Eli Manning for proof of this. I for one think Tarvaris will be better than good this year, and will be helped out immensely from the play-making abilities of his teammates.

The only really good player on that list is Garrard, who will be locked up by then.
Garcia might actually make it to the market, but he's getting near 40.
2010 isn't that promising either.
This is why people draft and develop talent, especially at the QB position. When the age of the Vikings came to a close, they must have sensed it. Probably, they gathered together one evening, slapped each other on the back and said, "Hey, good job." - Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts]

dont care what he has to say..go out and show me on the field, not in an interview

Re: Minnesota Vikings QB Tarvaris Jackson says he has 'a lot to prove'...
Here is what TJack has to proe to me.
1) He will step up into the oncoming hit and deliver the ball with his legs not his arms
2) He will never, ever, ever attempted a jump pass. That ish was not allowed on my high school team.
3) He will stay on the field and avoid injuries.
4) He will improve his reads at the line and understanding of defenses.
5) He will punish defenses for under estimating his running ability
6) He will punshi defenses for leaving our WR in 1 on 1 coverage for drives at a time
7) He will stop looking like Steaming Willie Beamon before he got good.
8) He will reduce his multi - inteception games. 4 picks in a game should get you cut. Especially since we throw 30 times a game.
If he can do all of those we will be a very good team.

So it looks like Anderson's new contract is designed to force the Browns to choose between him and Quinn (whose contract is through the 2011 season) after next season. I'm not foolish enough to think that they'll release either of them, but one of them should be available via trade. In addition to a $7 million signing bonus, Anderson is due to pocket a $5 million roster bonus before the 2009 season, according to James Walker of the Columbus Dispatch.

Yup, but that's a good thing that he recognizes it...and hopefully he will approach his job this season with this is mind...and improve enough to lead our offense the way we expect him to.
