Many of you may think that this is a ridiculous statement. How can the Minnesota Vikings be the most feared in the National Football Conference? Well here is a quick break down of how they fared in 2007.....

The way their receiving core could be used is having receivers Robert Ferguson and Rice be the short to middle passing threats due to their size and catching ability. Whereas Berrian and Rice being thier deep threats.
    Did he mean Wade here?

Re: The Minnesota Vikings: Most Feared in the NFC?

This is a great article that Packer fans need to read. I had some lengthy discussions with Packer fans yesterday at a family gathering. They are so concerned about our QB position they fail to realize what we have around him defensively and offensively. I think a few people on here also fail to realize this. Regardless of what some
say, I think our WR core is a good set.

they don't need Tavaris Jackson to put up Pro Bowl numbers, it would be greatly appreciated, but all they need him to do is make better decisions and manage games better.
The Vikings have a better group of players than last years 8-8 team.
This years team has the players needed to get 3 or more wins more than last year. So it is not ridiculous to predict us going 11-5 or better like the genius who started this thread. There is no doubt in my mind. TJ will be better this year and he was not all that bad last year.

I'm hoping that by week 5's game on MNF the talking heads are all referring, at least to our defense, as The most feared in the league!!!

With a top 5 run game and an average passing attack...that might be enough.

    Great article.
Every player that made our team successful will be returning and we have added talent to our weak spots.
I think all we would really need to be a dangerous team would be to turn the ball over less and improve our pass defense.
Come to think of it, we haven't really had a decent pass defense since the mid 90's w/ Hitchcock, Thomas and Griff.

Re: The Minnesota Vikings: Most Feared in the NFC?

I think the "Most Feared in the NFC" statement is a bit over the top.

Last year the Vikes had one dimensional offense (run) and defense (run stopping), thus the Vikes were easy to figure out, stop the run and be pass happy.

It's unknown how TJ will improve, how much JA will help the rush, BB will improve the receiving...

The Vikes made good moves on paper, that make them an "unknown" for 2008.
Vikes might be the "most promising" or "have the most potential", but "most feared" at this point?
    No....
Fearing the unknown is a foolish concept, as all teams in the NFL are unknown.

Get in the top 20 in passing and pass defense and then other teams might start to pay attention
Top 15 then they will start to worry
Top 10 they will then be scared....

Given that we continue to have top 5 rushing and run stopping.
