    Mike Tomlin

I think this dude is pretty much a genius.
How long before he's a head coach for someone?
I give most of the credit to our players, but it takes a special defensive coordinator to do what we've done this year.
We would have given up a lot fewer points this year if only the defense wasn't on the field so much.
Kudos to Childress and Wilf for hiring such a young coach.

He has done an excellent job at playcalling and putting our players in a position to make plays, which is more than can be said for Bevell and Childress on the offensive side of the ball

I m like a Ja Rule poster, cause I'm off the wall.

It will suck when we lose Tomlin to a HC position in the future.. I also think someone like Joe Woods will know this system and keep our defense going for many years.. All I can say is that our defense is the reason why we have 3 wins at the bye..

We were ranked 10th in the league coming into this game.. After having 3 INT's, 1FF, and 5 sacks, and also 2 turnovers for TD's, we will be even higher next week.. Good to see our defense playing like this, after so many years of being playing like crap..

I'm worried we'll lose Tomlin in less than 3 years if our defense continues to play like this. Holding Washington, Carolina and Chicago to under 20 points will have already alerted a lot of teams to Tomlin's talents. I know I'm thinking way too far ahead but I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who has thought about this. Especially when you consider how he has taken a unit that was, face it, pretty poor (save a few players) until the second half of last year and turned them into one of the NFL's premier defensive units.

    Yeah, I'd take a crappy o/great d over a great o/crappy d every time.

The offense will come, we just have to be patient.

I'd say we'll get a good 4 or 5 years out of Tomlin.
I'm not sure how long he is under contract, but we have the right to not let him go to another team while he is.

    I agree totally.
Cottrell was good for motivation and the players loved him, but as far as game strategy and x's and o's he was terrible.

I don't think you can hold back a Co-Ordinator from going to a Head Coaching job. Especially a minority coach. Could you imagine how that would make the Vikings look?! Unless Tomlin would want to stay as a Defensive Co-Ordinator in Minnesota I doubt we'd be able to hold him back from taking a Head Coaching position.

Would we even want to hold him back? He'd surely deserve such a position so why not let him go out and get what he deserves?

You actually can refuse a coordinator from interviewing for a head coaching job, as long as he is under contract.
    It's been done.
I agree, it would make us look bad though.
