Re: Mike McMahon: Making A Name For Himself In MN

From what i heard of him so far, hes been making the wrong kind of name for himself especially since jackson is close to being the no 2 qb and the reports that mcmahon isint having that great of a training camp let alone career.

well just have to wait and see.

Even after Jackson produced two relatively smooth weeks of camp, while McMahon demonstrated a level of inconsistency, the odds still stack heavily against Jackson ascending the depth chart this summer. But if early camp indications hold true, Jackson might not represent the long-term project he once appeared to be.

Sorry, not that good at posting comments or articles. This is what has been said all along about McMahon. I just don't understand why we even picked this guy up. He has always been a sorry qb ever since he was in Detroit. Let's cut this guy and be rid of him.

:???: Cut him and do what, exactly? You think O'Sullivan is the answer?

McMahon is all we have right now, so we'd better support him and hope that he excels this year. He's had a couple years in Coach Childress's offense now and is hopefully learning some tricks and habits from Brad Johnson. This guy was good in college and has shown flashes of potential in the NFL. From what I've seen of him, he just needs to learn how to settle down and be more comfortable in the pocket...perhaps Johnson is just the mentor he needs.

Either way, there's no reason for the media and fans in MN to constantly rip on our backup QB before he's ever even played a game. Instead, we should be showing love and building his confidence up.

Mike McMahon makes worse decisions than Aaron Brooks after Brooks has downed half a bottle of moonshine and been concussed.

    That's really bad decision making.

You're right, he's not half as bad.

    He's twice as bad.

Hey, maybe thats the answer for Mike. Worked for Tommy.

As Boognish says, he's a viking now, and hopefully he can do his job if god forbid he's asked to do it. He's got a long row to hoe to get over his confidence issues though.

i'd by far rather they vikings get kerry collins as backup than mcmahon. collins is at least capable of starting, wheras mcmahon is not. collins has a huge arm which would help out twill and krob alot on the deep ball. mcmahon does not have a good arm. collins is by no means good, but a hell of alot better than mcmahon, and i doubt he would ask that much money, because no one will sign him if he does. coud be something to look into.
