Mike Ditka still a vikings hater

Today on NFL countdown, Mr. Ditka called Brandon Jacobs the best running back in the league.

If I was Peterson I would personally take this as a slap in the face.

I like jacobs I think he is a top 5 back. Howeer, he is playing with a QB that can make plays and a Stellar WR corps, something AD does not have to help him

Jacobs is a good back, but I still hesitate to call him great...

Granted I don't pay much attention to him.

I really think he is top 5 for sure. He has good speed, delivers the boom, solid hands and good footwork. He's can be a complete back but they rotate him so much.

AD, LT, Westbrook, Jacobs and Steven Jackson are my top 5.

Anyone realize that all the commentators on ESPN played against us...
Keyshawn - Bucs
Ditka - Bears
Carter - Has a grudge against the team

No wonder we are much hated.

Not at all. I can take off the purple shades & see where he is coming from.

So far in 2008, Jacobs has had 75% of the carries that AD has had, yet he has 2 more TD's than AD has, avgs. 5.3 YPC to AD's 4.9, has only had 1 turnover to AD's 3, has a 27.5% first down percentage to AD's 22.8% & probably is a better pass blocker than AD. AD avgs. 6.5 YDS per reception to Jacob's 6.2YDS.

Kind of hard to argue about whose producing more for their team this year per carry & who has turned the ball over the least. Not saying I agree with Ditka, but it's a reasonable assessment by him.

Based on those stats, it would be hard to call Ditka "On Crack", "an idiot" or a "Vikings hater".

The Giants might have the best O-line in the league as well.
Watch the way they block for Jacobs and Ward some time.

That O-Line is the reason Jacobs performs so well.
What also helps is he isnt seeing 8 man fronts.
I guarantee you that if you put AD in that position he would be demolishing all of Jacobs numbers.
Think of how much planning goes into stopping AD every week v. Jacobs too.
Jacobs has the help of a great o-line, a QB named Manning, Plaxico Burress, and the rest of earth wind and fire.

Dont get me wrong I like Jacobs, Im just saying that AD is a much better back and if you are going to tell me that you would take Jacobs over AD, i must say you are crazy.

It comes down too if you had to draft a player would you honestly tell me that you would take Brandon Jacobs over Adrian Peterson?
