Come on....Keenan Howery sucked. This guy is rated one of the top 7 running backs in the draft. (Although the running backs in this draft were not too strong) This is definitely a special teams pick. Also, this guy looks like he could be a 3rd down back. He has excellent hands, probably one of the most gifted RB receivers in the draft. Let's fact it, Moe Williams is not going to last much longer. This guy sounds like a good match to me. The only problem I see with this guy is that he also has a contract to play MLB baseball with the San Diego Padres.

Howry was awful last year, especially on punt returns. We can't have the SOD on kick return all the time because he will hopefully be our starting RB by the end of the season

Maybe if this kid is good enough we could trade Onterrio for a more pressing need...Onterrio is a great player but we have bigger needs than having 3 starting running backs.

Can anyone say david palmer? This kid could very well fill the same role as palmer did in 1998. He is a good special teamer and will more than likely be a 3rd down specialist. He is the best receiving RB in the draft. We don't have RB's that are good at receiving, and he fills that spot. Moe is old and really isn't a receiving back. I realize he had a lot of catches last year, but all he mostly did was catch dump off passes all year. Mewelde can run routes out of the back field. I like this pick. Any of you who say this was a bad pick, due not realize how good of a football player he is. He was definately the BPA, which is how we drafted these last 2 years.

Mel Kiper said he liked two players going into day two of the draft. The Vikes got both of them. Mewelde Moore was one, and I think the other was Nat Dorsey. It's hard to fault the BPA mentality when the guys you pick up are that talented.

Moore is an awesome pickup! Last year proved that you can never have too much depth at RB. Moore is a solid runner and good reciever. Another Moe williams in the making. Whn a guy that good is still around in the 4th round you take him! The vikes have always gone after the best pick available regardless of need unless they were able to trade down. Great Move.

Exactly!!! Anyone who wants to argue the way the Vikes have drafted the last 2yrs needs serious help.

This year just like last year, we have hit the jackpot. We got our starting RDE (arguably the best DE in the draft), we got our starting WLB, Darrion Scott could start for Mixon if he is suspended, Dorsey will have Rosenthal on the bench by the end of the season, Moore will take the reins from Moe and will take some 3rd down action now, Rod Davis will back up EJ (Beek is gonna retire) and play special teams, Eiland will probably battle for the dime spot and play special teams, and TE is a project.

    I love it!!!

I read his interview on Vikings.com and he stated that he was done with baseball. He never made it very far in the minors... he said that he is a Viking now... Q: What sort of plans do you have with the Padres now that you are in the NFL?
A: I’m a Viking, I’m in purple and gold and that is what I bleed now and that is where I am going to be.Q: Have you told them that you are done playing baseball?
    A: Yeah, pretty much.

Q: Is it fair to say that your heart was never really in baseball?
    A: Like I said, I am Viking.
