McNabb: Vikings offense is where it needs to be

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/08/14/mcnabb-says-vikings-offense-is-where-it-needs-to-be/

“It felt good,” McNabb said. “I thought we had a great flow with the offense. Our timing and chemistry was where we needed to be.”
Donovan McNabb went 6-of-11 for 40 yards in his first game in a Vikings uniform Saturday night, and both of the series he played ended in punts. But McNabb sounded satisfied afterward.
Yep, he is going to take us straight to the SB lol

This guy cant find his ass with both hands, how is he going to find the playoffs with this team. Of course he is satisfied, medoicrity is the order of the day with McChoke.
    Ponder will beat out McChoke.

    PFT

McNabb looked comfortable and solid last night, as much as anyone can with very limited time/practice with the offense. Did they expect him to start slating the team and saying we've all kinds of problems??.. he said what each and every player interviewed on the sideline says, good to be out there, things to work on etc etc

I agree with ole Dnabb. A better gauge will be what more we see put in between now and the Seachickens game (on both sides of the ball).

I don't put a lot of stock in last night's game as both teams were more or less running vanilla and just kind of running around doing whatever.

I personally felt like McNabb looked pretty solid in his series and was pretty happy with Ponder as well.

I have no problems with McNabb at this point and think he could be ready to have a solid bounce back year. I don't know if it will be enough for the playoffs though.

Ponder will beat out MCNABB? You have lost it just as bad as Marrdro when Favre was here.

I dont think it is too far fetched. Its not going to take much, imho. The kids already has shown poise at the position, and if McChoke can learn the offense, and Ponder expects himself to be the starter sooner than later, I dont think it is far fetched at all.

Geeze it's so early in the season for silly posts. :P You can't really think we brought in a veteran QB and are paying him 7 million to sit on the bench. Please.... McNabb is our QB this year for better or worse. It will really come down to whether the O-Line will pull it together or not. If they don't our season will suck, if they do then who knows how far we will go.

COULD it happen? I guess so. SHOULD it happen? No.

    Emphatically no.

Geez, we have the chance for something special with Ponder. Do we really have to rush him out there and risk what we have? Would inserting Ponder in the lineup at any time this season significantly increase the chance of us making the post season? No.

I think that Ponder is going to do some good things in purple. Just not this year. And honestly, McNabb looked decent out there on Sat - at least for the first preseason game.

As usual a couple of good discussion points in there......

If rushing him out there is gonna hurt him why wait to find that out? If it is gonna mess with his head now, it will mess with his head later. I for one don't think he is the type that will let it mess with his head.

Would it increase our chances of getting to the playoffs? Doubt it, but at some point, if we realize we aren't going to get there with Dnabb under C, it is time to run him out there.

Agree with the Dnabb early assesment. One thing that I like to see out of him has nothing to do with his on field performance, but the early draws we are seeing at camp, especially on his first day practicing.

Seems that there is alot of hope that springs eternal with his arrival. I know there is a bit at the Marrdro household.
