Re: Vikings - Nickel back hopefuls might be an upgrade
Nice read Singer.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't care who you have in the secondary, if the DL especially the DE's can't hurry the QB he can stand back there all day waiting.
Someone will eventually get open, again, I don't care who you have back there.
With that said, Mac and Dev seem to be a pleasant upgrade/suprise.
;DMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

McCauley seems like some good raw talent as long as he's good at reading routes and what not, either way, i think we have a good 3-4 CB's this year

It looks like we've got some depth at the CB position now. I like the new kid McCauley, and with Gorden, Whitaker, and Dovonte, this will be another strength on our Defense. If we can generate a pass rush this year we are going to be fine.

QUICK CONTRIBUTION
JULY 30, 2007
Author: Mike Wobschall, vikings.com
A talented defense is quickly improving on the practice fields at Vikings training camp in Mankato. That improvement is due in large part to the quick contributions of rookie defensive back Marcus McCauley, who has intercepted a handful of passes during the first four practices and has batted away countless other potential receptions....

Damn coaches.
Out there tweaking.
Isn't that what the Vets are supposed to be doing?
(Sorry.
Last time.
I will get off my soapbox.)
McCauley says his success so far with the Vikings, albeit only in practice, is due in large part to the coaching he's received in college, where he learned how to perfect fundamentals, and now in the NFL with the Vikings, where coaches have tweaked his technique and improved his awareness. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Wasn't he the one who got burned by Darrell Jackson for a long TD against the Seahawks? In the few games I saw, that's about the only play I really connect his name to, and that's not good."PurpleTide" wrote:

Whitaker gave up the TD at the end of the home Bears game? Correct?
