Maybe a stud TE?
As I watch the Vikes struggle on offense this season, it comes to mind that maybe a stud TE with real speed and the ability to stretch the field would be a great aquisition. Just having a Vernon Davis type TE would keep the linebackers honest and not allow them to stack up against the run. Moss, although he was a WR, was the most effective decoy in the NFL. Even when injured he demanded additional coverage. A Gates or Shocky type would do the same. Wiggins does a nice job however he is not a threat for the long ball by any means. I would be interested to here your comments.

Re: Maybe a stud TE?
We have a "stud" tight end now and we still barely get him the ball...
And to be honest, Wiggins is the only guy on that team who has shown me he can catch the ball over 50% of the time.

Re: Maybe a stud TE?
Wiggins has got great hands & Kleinsasser has great pass blocking abilities. I miss the yards after a catch that a speedier & leaner TE might bring, but the pass blocking abilities need to be there.
As long as those two can still catch balls & help move the chains, that is all we need in our type of offense.

Sure it is nice to have a TE who has speed to burn, but if he is like Williamson (all that speed and no hands) what good does he do us?
Right now Wiggins is doing exactly what a TE is supposed to.
If you can't tell, I am a little critical of our offense.
To be honest, I would run a Maryland I formation.
I meant think of it.....Jimmy K is one of the best blocking backs in the leauge. Richardson is also one of the best if not the best. Put those two in front of Taylor/Moore and let them go wild.
Even mix up the handoffs between the 3/4 in that set and let the confusion begin!
Back to TE's though. We are fine with the ones we have.

I wasn't aware of the fact that the Vikings has had the ball at all this year! I don't remember seeing the offense play at all.

Re: Maybe a stud TE?
We have a stud TE, 2 in fact. Unfortunately, Childress has decided not to call their numbers on passing plays.

Re: Maybe a stud TE?
I'm happy with the TE's that we have, even if we had a Shockey type TE they still wouldn't be able to fire up the O.
Most teams would love to have someone like Wiggy or Jimmy K on their team and we have them both !
So I'd say we were fine at the momentTime spent annoying a Packer fan is never time wasted...
