Marrdro's buying the beer...
With the announcement that Tarvaris Jackson has been put on IR, my year long bet with Marrdro has been concluded.
Marrdro stated that by the end of this season I would consider Jackson a viable starter. I said no way.
By my count, Jackson played in 2 games, starting 1. And, from where I sit, Jackson pretty much sucked wang in both. Now, with him being put on IR (for turf toe) and reminding us all of his fragility (as we saw in '07 as well), I fell VERY confident in saying that Tarvaris Jackson is NOT a starting caliber QB.
Maybe the free beer will make being right less painful...

You're right, but Marrdro will have some excuse.
He always does.
It's what you learn after you know it all that counts.

Caine- You going to share?

I thought TJ has enough talent to be a starter.. but I am not convinced the pairing of Bevell and Childress did him any favors in development.
But with that.. even though I thought he could be an NFL starter.. at this point there is nothing tangible to hang on the wall and say he is a starting caliber QB at this point.

Saying Tjoke is a NFL caliber starter is like saying Brad Childress is a viable canditate for a NFL head coaching job...yea sure you can say it but your touch with reality is on a very very slippery slope

I think we just need to give him some more time. I mean look at what he has had to endure. In only his 5th season he had his coach fired and now all of a sudden he has a new coach and they are probably messing with the scheme to some degree so how can he be expected to play well while going through all of that?

Re: Marrdro's buying the beer...
Tarvaris definetly has the talent, but he is missing experience, knowledge, when he gets blitzed he either runs or gets sacked, he miss understands coverage, all things that you have to play NFL regular season consistenly, Only QB's that don't get hit don't get hurt, peyton manning gets rid of the ball fast as possible, running qb's like steve young, vince young, mike vick, donovan mcnabb, and even aaron rodgers always fight injuries, because they get hit hard trying to make a play, Tarvaris is physically tuffer than manning, he just gets run over. Well see what Webb can do, I think he will really struggle with blitz pickup and coverage but hopefully i am wrong

I stopped reading after this sentence.

Manning is a tough dude, TJ? He's made of glass.
