Thread: Manning to sit out of drafted by SD

i agree, vikeman, that the media like to spin nothing into a story a lot of the time. i still think that the dude, and dude's parents, should shut the hell up until they're actually IN the nfl. you can't put this kind of position on the franchise. on one hand, if they don't draft him, then they put the draft in the players hands. if they do, they may have wasted the first pick in the draft. i think it was unprofesional of the manning family.

I agree with the fact that the Mannings were unprofessional in their comments. But I really don't think San Diego is a good place for him. Marty Schottenheimer is not a good coach for him. I've seen the damage he's done to QB's in KC. I think San Diego's best option here is to trade the pick to the Giants. Even if Manning goes on to be a hell of a QB for the Giants. He probably would not have done as well for the Chargers. Plus the Chargers will still should get a great player at number four. Plus the Chargers need to fire Schottenheimer. He's way past his time.

shotty is one of those guys that is a great coordinator, but an average coach. i like cottrell, but i would have done a backflip off my house to get shotty as our defensive coordinator

The only thing the Chargers have to offer Manning if he plays for them is LT (Who's really good actually, a better value than Vick, in my mind) and an Offensive line that will get him smacked around. Sure, the G-Men will also have a poor O-Line but at least their Recievers are good.

Well now Manning better perform. The G-Men gave up an awful lot to get him.
