Re: Making the case for Childress

my Philly friend says that yes we need a new play caller, but that Chilli is a good coach and his system will work. So I believe him more than anyone else, so i'm down with the Chillster
Trying to bring rationale to an irrational site

Good question...... but.......... it could be worse.

    Arizona comes to mind.
    Houston comes to mind.
    Cleveland comes to mind.
Heck even Detroit comes to mind.

Chilli gets a pass this year with the option to rake him over the coals for both seasons at the end of next season.

I think what others have been saying is that you need to let him coach one year so you have something to compare it to.
Comparing Chlli to another team or another coach is somewhat unfair unless you are comparing a body of work.
One season to me (JMHO) doesn't seem to be a body of work.

Give it time! What else can you do, bitch and moan?
    It isn't that becoming.

I know when we hired Chilly the fans and media in Philly gushed over the guy and that they were bummed that he was leaving Philly.
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

After Childress left Phidelphia, the Eagles went from 18th in total points scored and 15th in total yards to 6th in scoring and 2nd in total yards. This was done with McNabb getting injured. Andy Reid allows Marty Mornhinweg to call the plays in Philli, something Childress was rarely allowed to do.

Re: Making the case for Childress

I don't really care what the Philly fans thought about him, I'm only about 40 minutes out of Philadelphia so I run into plenty of Eagles fans, and I must say they are the worst fans in the league. They're rude, obnoxious, ignorant football fans who don't understand the game. All they know is winning is good losing is bad. And they'll let you know when they win, but they'll want to fight immediately if they lose.

I know that's a broad generalization and "stereotypes are wrong", but Philly fans are assholes.

Great stat by Jeremy. And if we don't hire someone to call the plays I don't know what we'll do next season..... probably score just as little, especially if Childress continues his hatred of wide receivers. I don't see why you wouldn't draft one in the first round if they have been the problem in every program he's been in partial control of.

    LOL

Maybe Wilf needs to put Chilly on a short leash, the kind you use to see parents put on their kids, now that would be a site to see.
