Because that would make TWO rosters spots alotted to players who can only do one thing, and that only on special teams. I am already annoyed that we have to keep Loeffler as a pure long snapper. Nothing against him personally, he's good at what he does, but I am all about efficiency, and this is anything but.

If JA can do the job of long snapping adequately, I'd advocate dropping Loeffler over anyone else right now. And tghat includes Berrian, who is in my doghouse for earning me a whopping one point in the PP.O fantasy league this week.

Its a four way trade that lands us Jake Long, Larry Fitzgerald, Nnamdi Asomugha, and Darrelle Revis.
I am NOT here to provide good football insight or rational observations. I am an emotional 19 year old Viking fan and I expect you to adjust your expectations from my posts.

WR and DB are to position areas where I feel we need some help/depth. Not sure how to fill those, mostly because I am not sure who I want to say goodbye to. I would not mind seeing Berrian go, but who really wants him, and that would still leave us thin at WR, though we may be able to upgrade.

I would love to see us bring Walker back in, but not sure that is the solution. He would come cheap enough, and fill the gap, but who do we cut from our roster?

I think we are deeper than we need to be at TE/FB, but maybe we are keeping that many TE's to add extra blockers and use Shank more as a receiver.

I would not be opposed to cutting Tahi and moving Jimmy K to FB, but his body is not getting any younger.

I am sure we have a plan somewhere, just not sure what it is?
Some very interesting points of discussion....... Quick comments/questions on a few....

Depth at DB. Although we are a bit thin at CB right now, I think we can weather the storm with what we have until Cook and Griff hit. Them boys suprised the heck out of me last thurs.

I thought Walker was an interesting player, based on the history and all, but obviously he has something they don't like. Maybe the knees are shot after all. Why risk bringing him in and paying him if he isn't gonna play. I'd rather see them elevate someone from the PS.

Atleast they would have had some reps with the Noodle, cause isn't that our real problem right now, just getting the timing down?

Cutting Tahi would be another great idea, but if you sacrifice him, I would love to see them bring Rhys back, which we might see anyways.
I agree with the Griff and Cook statement, but still stand by being thin there. Not sure I was overly impressed with Abdullah. I thought he was late on more than one occassion.

Could be the knees of Walker, could be they felt no one else would pick him up. If they bring him back now, no guarantee in salary, and they could let him go once Sid proves he is healthy. I think we can get enough reps in with practice and our next 2 games and bye week to fix the timing.

Though I would like to see more kickoffs sail into the endzone, I don't see us getting rid of Tahi to fill that position. I just do not like the idea of having 3 kickers on the team.
We carry one cat just as our longsnapper. Why not a KOFF specialist?
Cause he has a linguine leg.

According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, the Vikings are scheduled to work out a number of free agent receivers this week.
Two of them are Ruvell Martin, the former Green Bay Packer, and Demetrius Williams. FOX's Jay Glazer reported free agents Sam Aiken and Reggie Brown will also get workouts.

Keep in mind that most players available at this point are teamless for a reason. No one the Vikings sign will break their three or four top receivers.

Mortensen also reported the Vikings could bring back Javon Walker this week.

Why work these guys out if Javon is coming back? LOL, looks like even if Javon does get signed, it will be because they just couldn't find anyone else and he is the cheapest solution.....LOL.
Yeah cause that would be smart. Good thing you don't run this team.
Why would it be smart? Because he has his timing down with the QB better than the other recievers?

Comeon, your glad I don't run the team!!!!!! Take a look in the mirror my friend.
Why? They did what I wanted in the offseason and the draft. What more could I ask for?

Wow ... a thread about trading for a WR and Marrdro managed to turn it into an anti-Favre thread again.

In short, none of my fricken comments have been harsh or bad. Go back and look. Find me one place I have been out of place.

Doesn't Favre eat aggs with his bacon!! I see how you are now Marrdro, you can't publicly dislike the guy so you use backdoor techniques to insult the guy!! Pretty tricky my friend. Did you ever work for the KGB?!?!?!! :woohoo: By the way F-ing egg shells; are they a special kind? Where do you find those? Do they taste better than the regular kind?
LOL, when was the last time I told you that you cracked me up my friend.
Crack you up like an egg my friend, I see your subtle yet oh so obvious bash on Favre. I will not stand for it!! He is the greatest thing since sliced bread; Why am I hungry for IHOP?!?!!?!? :S
See, I do my darnest to stay away from commenting on the Noodle and yet you guys/gals egg me on.

Like how I used egg there?

Look, I take nothing away from the dude. His is by far one of the greatest to play the game. Doesn't mean that he isn't gonna do things that are bad. All players do it.

What chaps my ass most about him is a few of the posters on here who can't seem to see him making those mistakes.

He clearly threw short to PH twice, behind his recievers on most passes and short hopped the one to Greg Cam that would have kept that late drive going.

Again, its timing that will be a thing of the past as the season goes on and will be forgotten by most (not me of course) as that timing comes back.

I look for a much better performance in the passing game against the Phins this weekend. Then all the crotchsniffers will be happy and I will be able to talk football again without having to mention his name with my keyboard/fingers.
Clearly you missed where I said he sucked ass in the post game thread or just decided to ignore it in typical Marrdro fashion.

Nope, I pointed out that he agreed with me in that conference several times, just to make sure the biggest Noodle Crotchsniffers didn't ask me for proof 6 months from now when the links are there anymore.

Looks like someone is ignoring something but it isn't Marrdro....... :P

And how did that work out? Your boy was on the sideline and the DB's did fine. DL looked like shit, as usual. No pressure and couldn't stop the run when Phat Pat was out......

    Hmmmmmmmmmmm.
