Madieu William out for the year?
http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/The+Way+We+Hear+It/Audibles/2008/audibles2308.htm
Well lets hope its not true
(Vikings S) Madieu Williams might be out for the year. They already lost their ace special-teamer (Heath Farwell). He is done. Their third defensive end (Brian Robison) has a more serious injury (varicose vein) than people realize. You can’t ever take that lightly. It seems like everyone (media) predicted them to win the Super Bowl this year, but they might actually have to show up to play their games. They are getting hit hard by injuries.â€Â

Re: Madieu William out for the year?
Just PFT doing what PFT does ... start rumors and try to stir shit up.
I definitely would prefer that he was not hurt at all, and would like to see the injury bug try to avoid us for a little while, but these are still nothing more than unsubstantiated rumors.

The top of this site has this: "The following quotes are from NFL scouts, coaches and front-office personnel, speaking on condition of anonymity."
Anyone know how accurate they have been in the past?
The only thing I have heard is that he has a neck injury, and will be out up to six weeks - with this being reported last week, so that puts him up through week 3.
I haven't heard anything about the entire season yet.Zeus wrote:

If it was PFT I would be more concerned, because their rumor mill is at lease somewhat accurate most of the time.Zeus wrote:

Re: Madieu William out for the year?
I hope it is wrong. At some point he is going to be needed on the field this year. Especially down the stretch

Re: Madieu William out for the year?
I need to see more information.
If he does end up being gone for the year, it is a really big hit for us IMO.
Nothing that can't be overcome, but a big blow nonetheless.
I am really looking forward to seeing him on the field with Sharper and our upgrade d-line.
Hopefully not a lot to it.

Re: Madieu William out for the year?
I think the most important thing is we've done a good job developing talent at the Safety position. This April we drafted Tyrell Johnson who is starting, playing well too. Eric Frampton and Michael Bowlware are behind the top 3 but not shaby themselves. If we can continue to cause the type of pressure we did Saturday alot of guys will have sucess in our secondary.
Although I'm not worried about the Safety position its a bit disappointing not to be able to see what Maudue can bring to the defense. I would expect good things considering the offseason aproach.

Considering I believe Robison practiced today, I don't put much stock in this rumor.

Re: Madieu William out for the year?
what the hell is the report anyway?
that williams has been hurt and we haven't heard anything since the initial injury?
how does that translate into done for the season?
same goes for robison?
he got the surgery, they said a couple weeks, and i imagine he'll be ready for the season opener.
i dont like that we haven't heard about williams since the injury, and that we dont know exactly what the injury is, but is this guy just speculating becuz of that or does he know something?
capable replacements are nice and all but losing depth is never good.
we signed him to big money and we need him out there.
with the first week around the corner i imagine we are gonna get details on where williams stands.
