We've lost Hope!!!

Not too many of us have any real confidence in the ability of this team to perform at a high level with any kind of regularity.
We've watched the same craptacular offense (You know, the "kickass" one that can't generate points...unless we're playing Chicago) for 2 1/2 years, and it hasn't gotten any better than that first game.

We've watched that same cover 2 "let's not change things up" Defense get thrown on year after year.
No one can run on it....but then, no one has to.

Every time we think we're about to turn the corner...SLAM!!!

When McCombs was here, we wanted HIM gone....we got rid of him and we all figured that we'd FINALLY field a Defense...then Tice got canned, and in comes The Chiller...so the Defense got better but the Offense blows....and we can't get a QB to save our souls...and AP can't carry the Offense alone, then they're not even using him....and Childress is a floopin tard....and Bevell is a waste of space....and the Defense can't seem to stop a troop of girlscouts anymore....and we barely beat Detroit (WTF?!?!?!?)...and we haven't beaten Green Bay in THREE FRIGGIN YEARS....and Brad Childress masturbates on pictures of Red (Blows goats) McCombs....and Zygi doesn't fire Childress and give us hope that he FINALLY gets the fact that Childress sucks wang....and we STILL don't have a QB.....and we can't get a stadium so they might be in LA anyway....and don't get me started on our special teams......and....and....and....

...and we have no hope anymore.
With Tice, we had hope.
We weren't there yet, but we were getting closer every year, and you could SEE the progress being made.
Then Chiller got here, and we went to crap INSTANTLY and stayed there.

So, again, I don't think we've lost "passion", we simply have nothing to be passionate about.
We've been Chillified...and until that hamster-poking tard gets escorted out of town, we aren't going to have anything to get excited about.

Very interesting rant....well said

Hopefully, they can regain it!

I haven't lost hope.

I hope Childress is fired on Christmas Eve

I hope Bevell is canned for impersonating an OC

I hope we can get a real QB's coach in here that can actually develope a franchise QB.

I hope the defensive scheme is altered to use the strengths of our players.

I hope the O-line scheme is changed back to what our line knows, understands & can execute.

I hope some flavor is added to our Vanilla offense by our new OC that knows how to utilize our offensive weapons.

I hope Cower can bring it all together for us & hire coaches capable of doing their jobs rather than hire "friends" as Childress did.

I agree with everything you said except for the O-line scheme, I think it would hurt more than it helps at this point to switch back to a man blocking scheme at this point.

So get rid of that, add "hope for a cowboys super bowl win," and change Cowher to Jason Garrett and I couldn't have said it better myself.

- Let me explain the Cowboys comment. For those of you who don't know, I love the Vikings and hate everyone else to a degree. Cowboys are #4 in my top 10 hated teams. Packers, Steelers, Bears are ahead of them. So I'm not any kind of supporter of the Cowboys.

But, if they win the Super Bowl, Jerry Jones can't possibly fire Wade Phillips... unless he really is that crazy.

If Wade Phillips is the head coach next season, Jason Garrett will end up somewhere else, last off-season he refused offers from the Ravens and Falcons... however I think we have the team and owner to draw him to Minnesota.

Dickless is trying to suck the passion out of the fans, just like he did to his players. Once we get a real HC, (hopefully before the end of this season) that passion will return.

I have to admit this. I used to be a total nut Vikings fan. I would literally live and die with the team.

Recently, and I would say that this began when Brad came in and Culpepper and Moss left, and Childress came in and brought Bevell, and the stacked box, and lack of offense, etc. etc. ...

... it hit me today: I have just lost the Passion !! God, this sucks too. I actually said to my dad today: When I watch a Vikings game now, I kind of expect them to probably lose, and it doesn't rattle me that much when they do.

Wow. I got that out. Does anyone feel this way on here ?
These are times when those that are band wagoners jump off. I say don't let the door hit ya on the backside.

"MEN WE STAY THE COURSE" mark this as the I told you so post. The Vikings will have a HUGE second half of the season.

Now stop your crying and get back to drinking purple passion Kool-aid.

I don't think he's saying his affiliation with the team is in question.
It's more of an honest admittance of his expectations of the current situation.
We have become conditioned to expect failure.
I doubt he does not feel hurt after a loss, just that given the current state of affairs and resultant expectations of failure as such, he is not as crushed as was once the case under the hopeful circumstances of past.

I agree but to quote the Great Mike Tice.

But coaches also resort to cliches to explain away the inexplicable and the unforeseen. And it is in this respect that Vikings' head coach Mike Tice has so often trotted out the refrain that "it's not how you start, but how you finish that matters."
