I've maintained it through 40 years, even through the Les Steckel experiment :
.
I've survived the Super Bowl losses, the Hail Mary, the drop, the miss, drafting Darrin Nelson while Marcus Allen was on the board, the trade, the Troy Williamson experiment, among countless others.
NEVER, will I lose my fandome.

Re: Losing the Passion ?(!)
My only problem with the Vikes is the mediocrity. That makes for a boring franchise. They aren't bad enough to initiate sweeping changes that may give you the fan hope for the future and they arent good enough to win it all.
I haven't lost the passing, I'm just bored of being 8 and 8 or 7 and 9 or 9 and 7.
Look at the major news sites, we haven't been a major story in a long time. It seems like we only make the news when our players beat up bouncers.

I can't blame you
Doesn't mean you aren't a fan or anything
But I am still as passionate about the Vikes as I was when I was 2
I just love arguing with Packer fans and the feeling of walking into the dome or waking up on Sundays ready to watch a game

Re: Losing the Passion ?(!)
I totally understand your feelings because I have the same. Don't get me wrong, but I am simply "tired" of seeing the same old crap out of them game after game. Not much to get excited about.
Maybe it's just that the Gophers are a more exciting game in town this year and as a former U of M graduate, I am excited about their season. I guess I must have the same disease a lot of others do...It's called being a "Fair Weather Fan." Well, after being a passionate Vikings fan for over 40 years I guess I can afford to lose some of my excitement until things turn around.Kentucky Vikes Fan

When you require nothing, you get nothing; when you expect nothing, you will find nothing; when you embrace nothing, all you will have is nothing.

Re: Losing the Passion ?(!)
I don't think it's a case of being a "fair weather fan", nor do I think it's a case of losing "passion"....I think that what we're ALL experiencing is a side effect of the Brad Childress regime.
We've lost Hope!!!
Not too many of us have any real confidence in the ability of this team to perform at a high level with any kind of regularity.
We've watched the same craptacular offense (You know, the "kickass" one that can't generate points...unless we're playing Chicago) for 2 1/2 years, and it hasn't gotten any better than that first game.
We've watched that same cover 2 "let's not change things up" Defense get thrown on year after year.
No one can run on it....but then, no one has to.
Every time we think we're about to turn the corner...SLAM!!!
When McCombs was here, we wanted HIM gone....we got rid of him and we all figured that we'd FINALLY field a Defense...then Tice got canned, and in comes The Chiller...so the Defense got better but the Offense blows....and we can't get a QB to save our souls...and AP can't carry the Offense alone, then they're not even using him....and Childress is a floopin tard....and Bevell is a waste of space....and the Defense can't seem to stop a troop of girlscouts anymore....and we barely beat Detroit (WTF?!?!?!?)...and we haven't beaten Green Bay in THREE FRIGGIN YEARS....and Brad Childress masturbates on pictures of Red (Blows goats) McCombs....and Zygi doesn't fire Childress and give us hope that he FINALLY gets the fact that Childress sucks wang....and we STILL don't have a QB.....and we can't get a stadium so they might be in LA anyway....and don't get me started on our special teams......and....and....and....
...and we have no hope anymore.
With Tice, we had hope.
We weren't there yet, but we were getting closer every year, and you could SEE the progress being made.
Then Chiller got here, and we went to crap INSTANTLY and stayed there.
So, again, I don't think we've lost "passion", we simply have nothing to be passionate about.
We've been Chillified...and until that hamster-poking tard gets escorted out of town, we aren't going to have anything to get excited about.

In the immortal words of Jimmy Valvano..."Never give up, never give up."
My guess, Mr Anderson, is that you played the game like I did...I never helped up the schmuck I tackled, and, never, ever said "take me out, I'm hurt."
Come on guys, buck up, this is absurd!
We have great tradition, upside, the best DT's in the League, the best RB in the League...stop this, just stop.
I will gurarantee that I've been through more pain than at least two-thirds of PP.O.
Disappointed in the season so far, yep.
Want to see 10-6, 11-5, 12-4...ah, yeah.
Deterred, no f-ing way.
I think I see what Chilly and the FO are trying to do...they appear to have missed on TJack...so far.
That's just my opinion, doesn't mean that I'm not 100% behind the Team.
Good grief, the dude from Winnepeg went to New England to embrace Randy Moss...in the new Foxboro for Christ's sake.
Losing the Passion?
Please.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent
