I have to admit this. I used to be a total nut Vikings fan. I would literally live and die with the team.
Recently, and I would say that this began when Brad came in and Culpepper and Moss left, and Childress came in and brought Bevell, and the stacked box, and lack of offense, etc. etc. ...
... it hit me today: I have just lost the Passion !! God, this sucks too. I actually said to my dad today: When I watch a Vikings game now, I kind of expect them to probably lose, and it doesn't rattle me that much when they do.
Wow. I got that out. Does anyone feel this way on here ?
Well, I would not say I lost the passion, because i freaken love watching them, cant get enough, BUT! they have seriously disappointed me... it is becoming like you said "Expecting them to lose" it doesn't rattle me anymore... im just like whatever. But i have not lost passion, just the outward expressions of that passion.
Re: Losing the Passion ?(!)
Look, every team will have times where they struggle. Would you like to be a Lions fan instead?
They got reasons to comlain..
things will turn around. Is it next game, next season or over 10 years..
Re: Losing the Passion ?(!)
when we lose I said fucc the vikings im never watching any more of their games. Next week I do the same. I love cheering for them, I just hope we an pull it together and start winning constantly. Even if we dont I dont think I will ever lose the passion
Re: Losing the Passion ?(!)
You are right. It could be a LOT worse. I could be a Bengals or Lions fan. Being a Seahawks fan would also really blow this year. At least the Vikings are competitive. I do enjoy watching the defense. It is just, if I have to watch, "off-tackle left" with AD running into a stacked box, I will want to take my own life.
::)
Re: Losing the Passion ?(!)
Once a fan, always a fan.
I'll never switch to the dark side...
Re: Losing the Passion ?(!)
Yea I agree with you man, when they are losing, im like F this they suck I need a new team.
But I only say stuff like that because im mad and expect more from them...I will never lose my Viking passion and they will always be my only team good or bad, even though on game day I can say some bad things against them or the coach or whatever.
Re: Losing the Passion ?(!)
I will never lose passion for the team.
I do hold high expectations for the staff and the FO to put a championship caliber team out there but whether they win or lose this is still my team and always will be.
Re: Losing the Passion ?(!)
NEVER will I or have I lost my fandome
>:(.
I've maintained it through 40 years, even through the Les Steckel experiment ::).
I've survived the Super Bowl losses, the Hail Mary, the drop, the miss, drafting Darrin Nelson while Marcus Allen was on the board, the trade, the Troy Williamson experiment, among countless others.
NEVER, will I lose my fandome.
Re: Losing the Passion ?(!)
Ive lost the passion..thats why I'm going to cheer for the REAL team from Minnesota..THE GOPHERS!!
