This story made me think of the time that Singer and I, went to scalp the indians at Mohegan Sun Casino in CT. Bad part was, we where the ones who got scalped.....Ned and Singer, leaving Casino....hahaha

Author of this article misses a couple of key point here. Or at least they make pretty strong implications that are simply not true.

1) The title states that "Losers pay for the Stadium". First of all, so do the winners. Second, pull tabs are only a part - not even the majority part - of the funding plan for the stadium.

2) The author states that electronic pull tabs will allow losers to lose more quickly. There is no evidence for that. Putting down $50 in regular pull tabs versus electronic pull tabs takes pretty close to the same amount of time.

3) The author states that "... the winning can be even quicker online. Online, you don’t even have to leave home and sit in a smoky casino to lose. That’s why, as research has shown, 75 percent of the folks who gamble online are problem or pathological gamblers." That's probably true (don't know - no actual study was referenced) but it has nothing to do with electronic pull tabs. Electronic pull tabs are only available in a bar or a restaurant where they are linked wirelessly to a master computer within the bar which is in turn linked to the Minnesota Gambling Control Board, which oversees all of the devices. You can't play electronic bar tabs at home online, so the authors statement has absolutely no merit in this discussion.

Good Lord, how old are those pictures of Singer?

What's worse? Being a loser by voluntarily contributing your hard earned dollars through state sponsored gambling, or being a loser by the state taxing goods and services you may or may not have a real option to decline purchasing?

Metrodome and the plaza outside should be littered with these E-pulltab machines so Vikings fans can contribute some of their dollars as well without having to go to a smoky bar.
