Re: Looks like Heath Farwell has torn ACL

As soon as I saw the replay of the hit, I knew he was done for the season. This is why they should cut the preseason in half.

Farwell has been our special teams ace and MVP for the past 3 years. We will miss him a hell of a lot more than some of you think. He is always the first guy down the field on kickoff coverage, looking to make the tackle on the returner. Looks like Ciurciu and perhaps a player like Erin Henderson will find themselves with a spot on the roster because of this. Hopefully someone like Alexander can step up and be the special teams guy that we need in coverage, otherwise guys like Devin Hester will have a much better shot of taking it to the house on us.

It doesn't matter how many preseason games there are if you get hurt in the first one.
Ultimately it is up to the coaching staff to decide how much each player will play. d

I'm going to wait till the MRI on Monday, I've seen some guys go down in agony and find out its only a sprain after the swelling goes down.

    Thanks Marr.

I wonder how many are paid as full-time employees.
There must some physical therapists in the mix and maybe a 'head' nurse.

It just gives more opportunity for stuff like this to happen. I'm not saying that Farwell got injured because there are 4 games in the preseason. If this were a more high profile player like Allen or Peterson, there would be a lot more people sharing my sentiments.

Re: Looks like Heath Farwell has torn ACL

You hate to se that happen but in a bad way it is a good thing for a few of the player battling at the 7th LB spot Guys like Erin Henderson, J Lehman, Rufus Alexander now have to step it up because they could very well end up with a roster spot this season.
