I love his statement about how Gibbs wont let any of his guys get out of line... last time I checked they had a safety in more trouble than any of our guys

Re: Look for the Vikings to go under this season

Just another unhealthy prediction, lets assess the QB's here and the situation.

    Superbowl Wins:
    Brad Johnson = 1
    Mark Brunell = 0

Brad Johnson is the better QB, he gives us a chance to win and he's careful with the football, as Brunell is not sometimes he threw the game away atleast 3 times last year throwing a drive ending int which could have been avoided. Brad manages the game very well and proved very durable last year after taking tons of shots.

I can't wait until our defense clicks, then we'll all see what they say then.

Ah, another sports writer, or so called sports professional thinking he knows how the season is going to lay out.. This is all just fuel for the fire.. The Vikings are well aware of what people say about them, and I am sure they will do everything they can to prove all the slapnuts wrong..

Re: Look for the Vikings to go under this season

    The article says..

"But this team does not have a lot of talent, and they have no depth ¦ "

Erhm, Sharper, Winfield, Smoot, Hutch, Birk, McKinnie, Greenway, K-Rob dosnt have talent.. and Liwienski, Whittle, Herrera, Memo, Fason, Whittaker, Hosack and alot of others isnt depth.. i guess they will all be cut and we will play the season with 22 players.. This is an idiot article.. if you want to claim something please give some true thoughts in what you are saying.. i hate when somebody just writes an article or says something that are not true like this.. so you know that they know nothing about what they are saying.....!!!

They have the easiest job in the world. They just write something up in 5 min. and that takes care of their week's worth...

Re: Look for the Vikings to go under this season

The only thing I agree with in that article is that the Vikings were a weak 9-7 team last year. Kudos for pulling off 9 wins, but they were mostly a disfunctional team.

Childress is an unknown, but he has to be better than Tice. For early season predictions (worthless I realize, but hey they have to fill up football columns), MN has a number of strikes against them. All new coaches, new offensive and defensive schemes, no star power on offense in the skill positions (WR, RB, QB). Until they start putting up wins, it will be real easy to throw low expectations on them.

Personally, I like the direction they are going and am very anxious to see the season unfold to see if Childress is building a team with sound fundamentals. Players will develop and become stars if they are put in a system that allows it.

Good post. You're looking at it sans purple tinted shades. It's going to be a struggle to pull off a winning season this year with a completely new staff and many new players. I agree with you that the direction of this franchise is great, but it may take a season for everything to gel. I'm tempering my expectations for this season; anything over 0.500 will be a success in my book.

Hell, I'm just glad he's ruling over them kinda hard, getting them in shape, and not letting much crap fly. I liked Tice, but he just couldn't get these rich guys playing a sport for a living to push themselves enough. You can already see the differences in the players, look at their drive to get in better shape. It's happening! I'm sure he'll pound the basics into them. I don't care if Childress didn't call plays, as coordinator he came up with the schemes, made sure everyone knew what they were doing. He had to do something, right? and the eagles made it to NFC Champ with mcnabb as their star power, and TO as their power for the super bowl appearance. Having Childress is NOT a bad thing, which this reporter tries to make it appear. F*** this guy, one of the dumbest ones yet. Anything he has right in this article has already been said 1000x, and everything else, like his mom does to me, blows.

Normally I would give more credit to a column like this one simply because its dealing with gambling. When there is money involved you'd think there would be extensive research put into these claims....but I wonder now.
He certainly seems clueless about our organization. He made a couple of decent points but the rest he cmust have just pulled out of his a$$. What a fruitcake.

He has a pretty good track record. I usually think that Vegas oddsmakers are about the best way to assess how a team will do over the course of a season; they don't like to lose money in vegas. I sure hope he's wrong about the Vikes though; it will be a damned long season if he's right.

Bartucci is 4-0 in the past two years in NFL season win over/under selections printed in Jeff Haney's betting column in the Sun. In 2004 he pegged Arizona to finish over 5 1/2 (result: 6-10) and Miami to finish under 9 1/2 (result: 4-12). In 2005 he predicted Tampa Bay and Cincinnati both to finish over 7 (results: 11-5 for both).

This guy does not necessarily work for a casino setting odds, he probably has an 800 number and advertises on the radio saying his play of the century this week.

2004 he has Arizona finishing over 5 1/2 what a tough call they get 6 wins.

How hard was that to predict? If anything Arizona underachieved that year! They had Anquan Bolden coming off a great season, they drafted Larry Fitzgerald and you had Denny Green coming in as headcoach. Based off what Denny did his 1st year in Minnesota (11 - 5)they should have had a better record then they had!

Miami to finish under 9 1/2 how hard was this to predict? Ricky was suspended again for drugs, the coaching staff were lame ducks and everybody knew it, they had A.J Feely as there QB, they lost a ton of players that off season and traded away their best defense player!

2005 picked both Tampa Bay and Cinci to finish over 7 games, since a lot of people were picking both teams to be in the playoffs it was not hard to predict that both teams would be over 7 wins.

How hard to predict that Washington will be a good team this year, at least try something hard.

    The guy is a pretender!
