Longwell cut?
On KFAN right now they are reporting that the Vikings cut Ryan Longwell...

One thing I know...Marrdro is happy as a warpig in slop. "Shortwell" is gone. wow, didnt see that one coming. Not this soon.

I realize there's a good chance he probably wasn't gonna be the difference between making or not making the playoffs this season but it only takes less than 2 million off the books and he already got a signing bonus last season. Doesn't make a lot of sense.

No problem with it here. I like him a lot and he's been a great kicker for us, but we are in a rebuilding mode. If we were a contender then I would disagree with this move but we need to start preparing for our next kicker, be it Blair Walsh or someone we get next year. I won't miss reading Shortwell, that's for sure.
I am NOT here to provide good football insight or rational observations. I am an emotional 19 year old Viking fan and I expect you to adjust your expectations from my posts.

We should have expected this, except perhaps not so soon. I found it hard to believe that we would have kept 2 kickers on the roster.
