This is moe like what I was expecting every night. I don't know what his problem was against seattle.
If he is consistently kicking like this in practice too, and seattle was a fluke, then I can see him getting a spot. However, if he is inconsistent in practice as well, he won't make the squad imho.
Get real guys look at his preseason stats:
15 KO's
Only 2 touchbacks (both against Denver in the Dome)
13% TBs
Average distance 67yds
Avg return 25 yds.
Net after return 42yds
NOT GOOD STATS for a specialist
Last year with the Panthers 29% TB's but he was inconsistant and when he didn't hit the EZ he gave up big returns. NOT GOOD again.
Longwell's KO suck from 2009:

It's all about the TB's. Are the chance of TB's worth taking up a roster spot when you could keep a good ST person like Tripplet, D'Imperio, Colt, etc. to help mitigate Longwell's shorter KO's?
