A little on our cap numbers
I borrowed this quote for those in interest:
from THIS article in the Startribune.• The NFL has set the rookie salary pool for each team, and the Vikings will have about $4,840,300 to spend on their eight draft choices. Last year the Vikings' rookie pool was $3,708,617 for six picks. The Vikings currently have about $27.5 million in salary-cap room.
Thanks to PPE for the sig.

They are FAs and, if they make the squad, will sign contracts based upon that, if they have not signed some sort of deal already.
That money comes out of the cap, not the rookie draft pool.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Re: A little on our cap numbers
$27.5 to the cap is a good amount of money heading into the June cuts.
the Vikings should really be able to help themselves before training camp opens.

4.8 mil. doesn't seem like that much when these high first rounders demand big bonuses and salaries. I know the bonuses get spread over a few years but still doesn't seem like a lot of dough.
