Re: Lito Shepard
I feel better because the secondary is doing a better job now than last year when Winfield got hurt.
It was a mess and they were getting burned a lot, not just once per game.
Lito had to watch a pretty good guy yesterday, you know. It's what you learn after you know it all that counts.

Re: Lito Shepard
Jared Allen needs to grow back his mullet. He was unstoppable with it and without it he's getting manhandled. Favre lost his Rice, and Jared lost his mullet. No wonder why we are sucking.

For real? If nothing else, they shut down the Saints with basically 3 CB's, 2 of which (Whinny/Lito) are that stellar when it comes to pass defense and a brand new starter at S.Infidel wrote:
What makes you fell better now we have Lito?Lito's not so bad.
Actually, I feel much better about the Vike's secondary than I did last year when Winfield first got hurt.
Mix in the fact that they are Cover 2 orientated, which relies on pressure from the front 4, with a front 4 that wasn't getting any pressure.
CC, you know I love your stuff, but you gotta give them some love my friend. That scabbed together group has been the most consistent unit on this team, followed closely by the RB's and LB'rs.Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

That scabbed together group should get a pay raise.

lol, I was thinking the same thing and I'm not a Lito fan. Cedric Griffin is about as generic as can be.CCthebest wrote:
Cedric GriffinLito Shepard is the worst CB i have ever seen play for the Vikes. Can anyone name a worse CB we have had? Do the Vikes plan for games? Was the game plan really for Lito tobe on BM? I know Winfield is 2 feet shorter then Lito but does the coaching staff plan for stuff like this? Or using PH as our main WR?
But not to worry. He'll be back in a couple of weeks, making Shepard look elite.Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please. Mark Twain

Re: Lito Shepard
Well, it seems to me everybody is forgetting to factor in that our legendary and thunderous and homicidal pass rush has not exactly been performing in a legendary and thunderous and homicidal fashion.
So the secondary deserves even more credit for shutting down the scoring. It's what you learn after you know it all that counts.

JA has 7 tackles in two games. at that rate he'll finish with 56, the most he's had as a viking.
I think JA will be fine and have another monster year when all is said and done.
90% of the time he won't get to the QB, that's just the nature of the position.

Exactly. There is a ton of down talk on JA around these parts, when the fact is he has remained pretty productive.TrojanVike28 wrote:

I would like to see him a little better on running plays, but then again, that is not really his bread and butter.
He also did have trouble with Jake Long ... but a lot of players do that. And he still managed a fairly productive day with a sack and a few tackles.
Jared Allen is the least of our worries. Hell, the entire defense is the least of our worries.

Yeah, think how this forum would be going if the defense had given up 35 points in each game.
