Lions on pace to tie NFL record when they play the Vikings on Nov 15
Last year, the Lions took away the 1976 Tampa Bay Buc's only claim to fame.
Until last year, the 1976 Bucs were the only team to go winless through an entire season.
And Detroit even one (two?) upped them by going 0-16 (The 1976 Bucs only went 0-14 because it was a shorter season in the 70's).
Now, Detroit is poised to take away the only other badge of (dis)honor that the 1976 Bucs have left -
Most consecutive losses.
After going 0-14 in 1976, the Bucs started the 1977 season with 12 straight losses before finally beating the New Orleans Saints.
They currently hold the record of 26 consecutive regular season losses.
The Lions, who lost the last game of 2007, and currently 0-17.
That means that they are only 9 short losses away from NFL immortality.
And guess who they are playing with their ninth regular season game of 2009?
Yep.
They are coming to Minnesota to play the Vikings.

When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

If they start 0-8 and we lose that game, I'm jumping off of something really high.

But it isn't going to happen...Zeus wrote:

Losing to the Lions always stings worse than any other loss. It's bad enough when you have to face your friends/coworkers after a loss... but when it's the Lions, it's totally different.
Those are the days when I call off work and don't leave my apartment.Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.
