    Hello All,

    *RANT ON*

Haven't been on in a while and here is the reason. I like coming to this site to discuss the Vikings and all just like all of you. Since sunday though the mood and everything is so nit picky.

I really haven't had that want to get on because every thread seems to be about everything that is wrong with the Vikings. Yes, i know that we can discuss what we are doing wrong, but ugh it gets old.

I am not saying that I wish for it all to stop or that we become these fans that think everything is ok with their team a.k.a the Lions., but can we try some optimism. When i was in Live Chat on Sunday, it was the worst ever. Everyone was just bashing the Vikings even when they showed some promise. It got old and i finally just left the live chat.

Now even most of the huddle is on how Gus won't help us out or how our receiving core sucks blah blah blah. I know things aren't going as good as we thought... but how bout we look at some of the good points instead of always the bad.

    *RANT OFF*

Phew sorry had to get that off my chest.... SKOL PP.O!
Win games and the attitude will change!

Lose a game or games and it gets picky and negative........

    OK, here's positives.

    1. AD is playing like a beast.
I wouldn't be surprised if he has 16 games over 100 yards.
    I love this guy!

    2. Hicks!
I was worried about him taking over for McKinney, but he's exceeded my expectations.
He handled a tough GB and Colts pass rush.
He handled Jenkins, KGB, and Freeny, some of the best pass rushers.
I think he will also do well against Peppers.

    3. The OL as a whole.
They are opening holes for the run game.
    They are forming good pockets.
Only given up 3 sacks, D blitzed for 2.

    4. Longwell 7 for 8.
Couldn't believe his old leg made the 53 yarder.

    5. Kluwe, his kicking in the Colts game was great.
Not responsible for TD return against GB, which crushed his net stats.

    6. Mills another guy that is stepping up, making plays when give a chance.
That post got my heart pumping!
    I can't wait for Sunday! ;D

    Re: Lets try some optimism...

I think this Sunday is gonna be kinda like starting the season over so to speak. I think Tarvaris had an opportunity to make things happen but he didn't do well enough. The inaccuarate passess was probably his biggest issue but never the less he didn't cut it and the QB is the most important position on the team. We know that Frerotte is gonna try to make plays and play with a sense of urgency and some confidence.

I think most of our offensive issues stem from a lack of execution, wether it's Reciever, QB or Oline play. We must start to put all things into action in order to make this offense tick and work with any type of rythme. Going into the rest of season we need to see the Offensive Line protecting Gus Frerotte so he's not injured like Kelly Holcomb. We need to catch passess unlike Brad Johnson's season of Butter Finger WR's. Right now is a golden opportunity for Gus to come in show everybody he can get this offense into a rythme. Once Rice is returned from injury he will have all the weapons he needs and it will be up to all the players to execute, bottom line.

As for the coaching they have there own set of issues but hopefully they can make whatever personal changes need to be made in order to suceed. I think Bobby Wade needs to see his only time in the slot while Allison needs more reps on the outside. Gus is also in sinc with Allison and I think he's a guy thats able to get seperation on a consistent basis. Hopefully Gus can be the change that needed to be made for the "handcuffs" to be taken off the offensive playcalling, if not the worst is yet to come for Brad Childress.

    How about this for optimism:

    Gus 300 yards, 3 TDs

    AP 250 yards rushing.

    Vikes 27
    Kitties 17

    The Vikings are winless.
If they continue this streak, they'll have the first pick in the draft.

    How's that for optimism?

After Gus has a shitty first half, they bring in the young gun Tjack and he throws for 200 yards and 2 TDs and the vikes win

    Re: Lets try some optimism...

well i'm scared shitless, but we can win.
if the defense doesn't give up the big play, carolinas offense is not fantastic.
injuries on offense is not gonna make ferrottes job easier, but if we gotta win a game 10-7, we gotta do the job on defense.
i'm assuming carolinas defense has been playing pretty solid, even though some points were scored against them against san diego.
then again with our offense you dont have to play that solid to keep us quiet.
but were home, and i'm sick of not winning under childress at home.
at least with tice we were a good home team.
childress has us look the same no matter where we are.
    are the panthers for real?
    are we any good?
idont care what the circumstances are, you cant let them come into your house and win when you need the game.
now ferrotte doesnt strike me as a big energy guy, but maybe if he hits some throws early, it gets the blood flowing.
god knows childress isnt an energy guy, so alot is gonna fall on ferrotte and the defense to get a crowd who is disgusted into the game.
and make it a true home field advantage.
    "self improvement's masturbation.
    now self destruction" that's enlightenment
