Let the Talk begin: McNabb to the Vikes

I am going to say it right now McNabb is going to the Vikings QB this year. Someway, shape or form, FChilly and teh front office will make this make this happen. The Vick Signing and with Kolb waiting in the wings this was the writing on the wall that Mcnabb is on his way out in Philly, and teh Vikings will do everything they can to get him.

Cal me crazy, call me whatever But I think that it will happen. I have said that The Vikings starting QB is not currently on this team, and I still beleibeve that to be true. With the strong push for Favre, there is obvioulsy a want for a established QB on this team and the Vick Signing s a win-win for teh Eagles. They get something for McNabb, take a chance on Vick and if he doesn't work out they roll with Kolb

I think you're insane. IMHO of course.
They just signed McNabb to an EXTENSION. They did not give him more guaranteed money just to trade him to an NFC contender. If for some reason they start terribly, a deadline deal is a super longshot, but honestly ... I don't see it happening this season.

And you don't make a move to sign a QB Like Vick if that was not a possibility either. regardless if he has been out of the league a year or to if you are that confident in your QB that you did sogn to a extension, you don't pick up a starting caliber QB, High risk or not. and to a 2 year deal at that.

    Hahaha!

I was telling my wife that very same thing earlier and was expecting to see the topic up here soon.
I figured someone would have been quicker on the draw but, congratulations Garland on being the first to unleash the McNabb madness.

I believe the deal is for a little over $1 million for year one with no guarantees, which is not starter money.
Year two is for something like $5 million, but the Eagles have an option.
So if Vick has lost a step, they can just cut him and be done with it.

    McNabb is the Eagles' guy.
He actually petitioned the team's front office to bring in Vick.
    He's not going anywhere.

Vick will be an interesting piece in that offense, and probably a better backup QB than Kolb.
When the age of the Vikings came to a close, they must have sensed it. Probably, they gathered together one evening, slapped each other on the back and said, "Hey, good job." - Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts]

    +1

You are crazy if you think the Eagles are planning on making Vick anything more than a backup who possibly takes a few snaps in the Wildcat from time to time.

Am I mistaken, or did the Eagles not just sign McNabb to an extension?
Either way, I'm positive they are not banking on a former criminal that has been in jail the last couple of years to be the QB of their team this year, and doubt they plan on starting him as long as McNabb is healthy.

    Green,
I typically like your post but you are off the rocker with this one and I will tell you why.

    1) Vick signed a 2 year contract with a team option to pick up or drop him after the first year. You don't sign a Qb that is going to replace yoru starter to that type of deal.

    2) Mcnabb is a damn fine Qb. For some reason the media trys to paint him as a bum but he is a top 3 QB in this league. I know most will disagree but after Brady and McNabb there is no one I rather have leading my team. Brees puts up a great amount of yards but he has be blessed with a shit load of talent.
Mcnabb plays in the toughest conference in the league and his team is the most dominanting team in the NFC this decade.
The Eagles know how important he is to their franchise and will not let him got without major compensation.

    3) Kolb is injuried and Vick is the best 2nd string QB not on a league.

    4) It will take Vick a lot of time to learn the playbook. He can only play in 2 Pre Season games and He might be suspended until week 5 or 6.

    5) The media hit for dropping a clean but opinionated
QB for a former con will rub some the wrong way.
    -----------------------------

Now with that said, I think this does open the door for us to potentially get McNabb further down the line, say 2 years. However, it all matters on how McNabb handles it.
