Let it rain …
Tuesday, August 1st, 2006 by Kevin Seifert
… because it didn’t stop the Vikings today. A steady rain fell throughout the Vikings’ first full-pads practice today, creating a backyard environment of muddy jerseys and and 10-yard slides down the field.
Strong safety Tank Williams had what might have been the most impressive hit, blowing up running back Mewelde Moore on a blitz during a team period. There was also a long bomb from J.T. O’Sullivan to Marcus Robinson, and defensive backs coach Joe Woods showed some serious upps after watching rookie safety Greg Blue put a strong hit on tight end Jeff Dugan.
Meanwhile, I am quite sure that I had the most impressive string of continuous complaints about standing in the rain. And I was one of the dainty few who had an umbrella.
It was miserable, but I suppose this is how good teams get built, especially ones that play half their games indoors and have had a tough time when the elements arise in other stadiums during recent years.
And I’m just going to take a guess here, but I’m pretty sure Brad Childress isn’t too worried about whether a few beat writers get the sniffles.Kentucky Vikes Fan

Re: Let it rain …
THAT'S why the Vikings need an oper air stadium, or at least a domed one with a big sprinkler system.

Re: Let it rain …
Practicing in the rain was always a lot of fun, so I'm sure the players didn't mind it.

Re: Let it rain …
Better than pics, you can go to KFAN's training camp guide and see the hit on video. I posted the link a couple of days ago. I always check that place because I don't have any other Vikings video down here.

Re: Let it rain …
I'm sure it helps a little bit with all the heat, it won't feel so good though when it stops.

There is a link to pictures and video at the bottom of the page as well. I like the quote of McKinnie tossing around Erasmus like a rag doll!"Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn t work hard."
