Legislative Leaders Open Door to Vikings Stadium Discussion
"At the Rivercentre in St. Paul last evening, the annual Session of the Minnesota State Legislature was kicked off at the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce "Session Priorities" dinner. As part of the dinner program, a panel with all four political caucus leaders talked about the key issues that will be addressed during the 2007 Legislative Session.
Regarding the Vikings stadium issue, caucus leaders indicated that the door is open for the Vikings to bring a proposal forward. The state political leaders talked about the importance of keeping the Vikings in the state, of negotiating a fair deal with the Vikings, of the precedent that has been established by resolving the Minnesota Twins ballpark issue in 2006, and about their interest in taking a look at the Vikings stadium proposal.
The Vikings are currently engaged in an urban planning exercise along with the City of Minneapolis and Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission, to present an opportunity to redevelop the Downtown East area of Minneapolis with a new mixed use development that includes a new Vikings stadium as the anchor. That study is due on February 1, after which the Vikings plan to advance a discussion at the state capitol about this project and the future of the Vikings franchise."

Blah, blah, blah, blah.... :
I hate politicians.
Now they say: "We want to give them a fair deal. We want them in the state. Look at what we did for the Twins!" When the issue actually comes up they'll say: "F*** you guys. Love boat. DUI. 6-10. See you in Los Angeles."

Re: Legislative Leaders Open Door to Vikings Stadium Discussion
I have a feeling if the tax payers and state leaders don't do something the Vikings will be gone.
It's time we get this thing done.
It's all about economics and it helps Minnesotans if we build a stadium.
