At least we're beating the bad teams year...
Last year we got knocked out of the playoffs because we lost to some of the worst teams in the league despite beating the playoff teams. If the pre-season games mean anything at all, our first team offense and defense pretty much seems to have put an end to that! I think our first team walked all over the Cards, 49ers and Falcons (which is how it is supposed to be).
Man, having a D sure is a nice thing
.
Halo 4. Start another fight.

Yeah I think our D will be real fun to watch. We have some playmakers on the defensive side of the ball. I can see a few more picks and a lot more sacks than last year.
Let s Go Mountaineers!

picks aren't really happening to our D in the preseason and we're doing fine with sacks.
however, i'm most impressed how our first team D has yet to allow a touchdown.
granted one of our games was against the lowly and rebuilding niners, but we were able to keep the cardinals and their "brilliant" QB and talented WRs out of the endzone. [not to mention they had the offensive guru denny green callin the plays] and who could forget that goalline stand against the falcons where they got to our 1 yd line but left with only 3.

Stopping the Cards and Niners was one thing, but the first team defense completely stopping Vick and the Falcons first team offense was pretty impressive.[b:6191debc1d]it ain t easy being cheesy[/b:6191debc1d]

they are all playing strong, they just need to keep going all season. I have been very impressed by our starters. The big test will be this thursday though. Go Vikes!

Well with more sacks comes less picks but that is fine by me, also if the defense can keep presure on the other teams qb's the int's will come.
can we clone Bud Grant?

I wouldn't get too thrilled by that. Good job, but Vick has little knowledge of the offense and even less experience. Still not bad, but just nothing I would get estatic over. For the record, I'm not feeling great about our defense either even after their performance against the Bengals first team."pepper 0n moss" wrote:

Hate to be negative but this is preseason and we have yet to win a freaking road game yet. When in the world will we ever win a road game again??? We still havent won a road game since early last year. When we start winning road games again despite the opponent, only then ill be more satisfied.

New offense or not, Vick scares me. Must be because of that game in 2002 when he shredded the Vikings defense with 170+ yards rushing and 170+ passing. Hey I'm just hoping Cottrells defense really is better than what we have had for the last 5 years."cheesefree" wrote:
