Re: LB Situation, where do we stand?

I don't think it really matters who we bring in, the defense is gonna be hurting without EJ in the middle. We're gonna give up more yards over the middle in the passing game, and give up more on the ground.

I think this injury to him is really gonna prove to the nation what a force of a MLB Henderson really is.

Vikes will be facing Forte next week.
He's ranked 5th in yards and has busted some long runs, which the Vikes have been giving up a couple each week.
You know they are going to be running strait at the new guy.

Noone will replace EJ, we can only hope the guy that goes in doesn't screw up and cost games.
Remember the yutz's on here who were saying that they would be happy to give up some yards on the ground if it would help out our pass defense.

    Silly Vikings fans.
They were probably some of the crowd that was booing a win yesterday.

(Sorry if I sound like a broken record on that one.
    Still amazed it happened)

We won't give up rushing yards up the middle.. The Williams boys will swallow up anyone trying to get up there

But its the counters and sweeps we gotta worry about.. Usually EJ would swing in there and break up the running lane for a tackle for loss

I saw Herron and Circiu fail to get in the hole and stuff the run

Running straight at the MLB means running straight at the Williamses....

    On what, one play?

We stuffed Detroit's run game almost completely. The Smith run was bad but otherwise they had nothing.
We were able to shut down the Saints as well.

Forte is a great back and obviously EJ will be missed, but I doubt this is the hump that breaks the camel's back.

    Not really worried at all.

All I was saying is if a team has rushing success against us it will be to the outside no matter who we have at RB

Re: LB Situation, where do we stand?

I will never ever boo my team!!
    Ridiculous and Wrong!!
We all want to win, and booing isn't going to help their execution nor confidence in the slightest!!!
Lucky for me, I guess, I've had to watch the past two home games at a bar with no sound...so, I don't really hear that, Or, I'd certainly be pissed!!
    >

However, I have taken a recent perverse pleasure in sarcastically ridiculing them while I root for them!!!
Especially when we pull the olde Run, Run, Pass Incomplete, Punt routine.
    Kluwe for MVP!!!

Was there ever any doubt we would miss EJ?
With Herron hurt too, I'm not sure we have much choice anymore...Sign DT TODAY!!!!!!!
He knows the system, the language, can play all three LB spots and STs!!
He has racked up double digit tackles for us in nearly every game he has had to play LB...including 14 while starting at MLB for Biekert as a rookie.
    What are we waiting for
    ???

As for SF, they signed Takeo Spikes after DT, and I'm guessing, didn't want to pay him his original contract to be a backup...especially with some of their own young draft picks already in developmental/backup roles.
Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

Then it isn't all on the MLB if they get to the edges.
Our outside backers will have something to say about that and I for one have liked what I've seen out of Ben and especially Chad since EJ's departure as a result of the injury.

I see what your saying, but the Saints didn't have any success against us. Our CBs are great against the run too, and we shut the Saints edge game down.

The Titans game is a better example of your point.
