Yeah, that was a bad no-call.
I think he kind of added a little pizazz to the fall, but since he is so old and feeble, hitting the ground really did hurt him. :P

Re: Late Hit on Frerotte No-Call

so 5 seconds after the play...k, he is NOT running around, he is standing there after having released the ball 5 seconds ago, the DE comes up, hits him in the back with helmet to helmet and this IS NOT FLAGGED! Well, it is the Bears not the Vikes, so obviously thats ok. That ref should be in the doghouse with hochuli. If its not helmet to helmet (sure looked like it to me), or a roughing the passer, it was at very least a late hit. I mean, any later and Gus is jogging off the field. LOL, this crew obviously didn't ref the denver/oakland game where the poor pass rusher shoulda brought a blankey for the QB, not a hit.

Yeah .... I have NO idea how this one was not called. I mean don't referee's keep their eyes glued to the QB from start of a play to finish? I was stunned on this one, really did not know what to say.

Does anyone get dazed and knocked silly more than Gus?
    He's like the anti-Roethlisburger.
A gust of wind blows through a stadium and Gus is doing cheetah flips onto his head, stumbling around, then lining up under the guard for the snap.

    Funny stuff.

He's slow and old, perfect combination for getting hit and getting hurt. He's got the medics on the field at least once a game.

it was a very late hit.. helmet 2 helmet or not.. it was late..

the good thing that came out of it.. any1 notice this.. my dad mentioned it a lot.. he was letting the ball go a LOT faster after that hit then before it.

If that one doesn't get a fine, I am going to mail Goodell a kick in the nards lol. The bonus might have been that I think it pissed Gus off and made him determined to win the game. Good trade I think.

Say what you want about ol' Gus but he plays hard and takes a lot of hits.
He's a tough bird. I don't think he faked it- why should he?
The hit was there for all to see (except for the official).
If you get timed running the 40 with a sun dial you better be tough, right?
